DESCRIPTION:The annual Run for Mary 5km Run/Jog/Walk is taking place in Peterswell\, Co. Galway on\nSaturday Nov 11th 2023.\nThis is our 10th year running this event which has been organised in memory of our dear\nfriend Mary Prendergast who passed away on 2nd January 2014 aged 42 years. Mary was a member of our local South Galway Athletics club and ran the Dublin City Marathon with us in 2004.\nMary and Paddy got married in 2004 and were blessed to have three children Carlyn\, Roslyn and Zach. Baby Zach passed away when he was only one week old on June 4th 2012. Mary was diagnosed with cancer 5 months after the loss of baby Zach. Her courage and dignity during her battle with breast cancer was inspiring to all who knew her.\nAll proceeds from this fundraising event will go to two charities\, Galway Hospice and Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity.\nWe are welcoming all athletes\, runners\, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities to\nattend this memorial event.\nPlease remember to invite your friends and family! \n  \nRegister Now CLICK HERE

DESCRIPTION:The Annagassan Viking 10KM is dedicated to the memory of Noel Carroll one of Irelands finest athletes and one of the founders of the Dublin City Marathon who was a native of Annagassan. The race takes place in the beautiful fishing village of Annagassan. The route starts at the edge of the village it will take you along the sea front\, then into the rural country side of Salterstown\, back along the coast within feet of the waters edge with the stunning backdrop of the Mourne and Cooley Mountains. A long flat straight brings you to the finish line in the centre of Annagassan Village. SUMMARY:Leenane 5 Mile Run | Jog | Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Leenane /Maam branch of the Irish Red Cross are planning to host the fifteenth 5 Mile Run\, Jog\, Walk\, through Leenane on Sunday 19th November 2023. All proceeds raised on the day will go towards the Leenane / Maam Cardiac First Responder Group. The run will start and finish in Leenane Village. This 5 mile run will take in some on the most breath-taking scenery along Killary Harbour and will include the award winning Golden Mile in Glanagimla. \nEntry is now open at https://leenane5mile.com/ \nThis activity is for all serious runners and joggers\, but it will be open to anyone who might enjoy this fun activity. The plan is to have lots of craic at the end of the race where people from the village will provide teas\, cakes and treats for all those who participated. \nThe Race starts at 14:00 at the Leenane Hotel and registration will take place in the Leenane Community Hall from 12 noon onwards. Prizes for first\, second and third place. Refreshment provided at the end of the race. A fun day is promised.
