Participants get to experience Sliabh Liag\, one of Ireland’s most Iconic landscapes\, and boasts some of the highest Sea Cliffs in Europe. Starting at Sea Level at Teelin Pier\, the route takes to the Pilgrim Path where people have travelled on for over a thousand years as a Christian Pilgrimage to these sacred mountains to appreciate their cultural heritage. DESCRIPTION:The annual Run for Mary 5km Run/Jog/Walk is taking place in Peterswell Galway on Nov 12thth 2022. \nThis event has been organised in memory of our dear friend Mary Prendergast who passed away on 2nd January 2014 aged 42 years. Mary was a member of our local South Galway Athletics club and ran the Dublin City Marathon with us in 2004. \nMary and Paddy got married in 2004 and were blessed to have three children Carlyn\, Roslyn and Zach. Baby Zach passed away when he was only one week old on June 4th 2012. Mary was diagnosed with cancer 5 months after the loss of baby Zach. Her courage and dignity during her battle with breast cancer was inspiring to all who knew her. \nAll proceeds from this fundraising event will go to two charities. The race takes place in the beautiful fishing village of Annagassan. The route starts at the edge of the village it will take you along the sea front\, then into the rural country side of Salterstown\, back along the coast within feet of the waters edge with the stunning backdrop of the Mourne and Cooley Mountains. A long flat straight brings you to the finish line in the centre of Annagassan Village. DESCRIPTION:The Leenane / Maam branch of the Irish Red Cross are hosting a 5 Mile Run\, Jog\, Walk\, through Leenane on Sunday 17th November 2022. This is the fourteenth year of this event. \nAll funds raised from this event go towards the upkeep of the Community Cardiac First Responders Group\, \nThe Cardiac First Responders Group have already been instrumental in saving several lives and are a vital resource for this rural area. \nThe run will start and finish in Leenane Village. This 5 mile run will take in some on the breath-taking scenery along Killary Harbour and will include the award winning Golden Mile in Glanagimla. \nThis activity is for all serious runners and joggers\, but it will be open to anyone who might enjoy this fun activity. The plan is to have lots of craic at the end of the race where people from the village will provide teas\, cakes and treats for all those who participated. The volunteers involved in the unit work tireless in their efforts and are present at every outdoor event in the county to help render First Aid when necessary. \nThe Race starts at 14:00 at the Leenane Hotel and registration will take place in the Leenane Community Hall from 12 noon onwards. This is an over 16s event. \nWhen: Tuesday 27th December 2022 @ 11.00. \nHow:  Register Here \nPrice: €25 (+reg fee) Includes a technical ‘turkey’ running tee-shirt \nDetails: 2022 will be the 11th Fat Turkey RUN. \nThis event sells out each year so if you want to guarantee your T-shirt\, please sign up online. \nThe Run will start outside St Fintans Church @11.00.  Registration will be in Suttonians RFC from 09.00. \nThe Fat Turkey 10km event is to support Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924) and the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives\, and help to restore their confidence and independence). \nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintans Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route. \nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip & T-shirt can be collected  from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available. \nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety / event briefing.  Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintans Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11.00 sharp. \nOn completion of the race participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. SUMMARY:Resolution Run Galway 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Resolution Run 2023 is a fast and flat 5K road race that takes place New Years Day 1st January 2022\, at 10.30  in Galway City Centre. The course routes through the City Centre\, from the Claddagh\, passing Wolfe Tone Bridge \, Merchants Road and the Docks\, and routing back out to Grattan Road and the Prom before a fast finish along South park into the finish at Nimmos Pier. The route passes most of the city’s famous landmarks along the way. The race is AAI certified and there is a superb souvenir gift for all entrants\, Race HQ is Claddagh Hall at South Park\, Galway and race start is beside the park. \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course\nPlease note that there will be no changing facilities or showers available. Set up in 2001\, we are based in Dundalk and operate across 4 counties in the Northeast.
