SUMMARY:Liquid Motion Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:Liquid Motion Duathlon is taking place on the 24th of February and is the 4th race in the Ireland West Duathlon series. \nThe event is suitable for all abilities and the route is generally flat with some short hills. The race takes place in the seaside village of Enniscrone and takes in the beautiful beach and coast line of the surrounding areas. \nThe first run starts at the pier where transition is staged and follows the road down to the strand where competitors follow the markers to the turnaround. After returning on the same route to transition to collect your bike you will be marshaled out to a side road which joins the main Enniscrone to Easkey road.  The bike is a very fast out and back 20km course\, which follows the coast to the small village of Rathlee where you will meet the turn around point. The return route is the same road back and is mostly flat with one or two small hills when leaving Enniscrone. The 2nd run is a short 2.5km and is again flat and fast to burn what energy you have left. The course has some spectacular scenery and is not to be missed. \nPrizes for the top 3 male and female\, with some age categories thrown in for good measures. \n**Please note a Triathlon Ireland Licence is not required for this event. \nWe want to wish all competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing you all on the day.

DESCRIPTION:3 marathons in 2 days is an endurance challenge. This is the 5th edition of the event which takes place in Ballina\, Co. Mayo. \n2019 is the 2nd year when we offer choice of 3 half marathons in addition to 3 full marathons. \nAnd you can take part in 1\, 2 or 3 events – it’s all up to yourself. \nSo Ballina is calling you on the weekend of 23rd & 24th February 2019. Come\, join us and challenge yourself. \n3 marathons/halfs\, 2 days\, 1 location and 3 different courses. \nSchedule: \n23rd February (Saturday) \n– morning event – full marathon start @ 7am\, half marathon start @ 9am. Course is 2 loops around Ballina/Killala area for a full a marathon and out and back run for the half marathon. Cut off time is 1pm. \n– afternoon event – full & half marathon starts @3pm. Course – looped course – loop length is 1522m\, therefore you have to complete 14 laps for half and 28 laps for a full marathon. All runners have to have a head torch after 5:30pm \nCutoff time is 9pm. \n25th February (Sunday) \n3 distances to choose from – half marathon(start @9am)\, full marathon & ultra marathon (start @8am). \nCourse – looped course with a loop of 1.65mile long – so 8 laps for a half\, 16 for a full and 20 for ultra (33miles). Cut of is 3:30pm \nAll events HQ is located right beside a start&finish line @ Ballina Town Soccer Club. \nChanging rooms\, showers\, and food will be available @ the clubhouse. \nSt. John’s ambulance will be present during the event. \nEvents are chip-timed and all finishers will receive finisher medal upon completion of the course. \nT-shirts for the first 200 participants. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Gorgeous Gort 5K will start at George’s Street Gort and will take you through the town of Gort and around the scenic hinterland via secondary roads. \nThe race will finish close to Gort Community centre not far from the start line. The race route is Jones counter measured and Athletics Ireland permitted. Entrants will be chip timed. \n***Special reduced entry fee for Couples and special prize for first couple home…………..it is Valentines Day after all…..well nearly anyway*** \nA fast flat route. DESCRIPTION:The Hollymount Duathlon\, on 20th January 2019\, will be the second event in the Ireland West Duathlon Series 2019. The Duathlon will consist of a 5k run\, a 19k cycle and a 3k run which will start & finish on the main street in the Village of Hollymount. \nStage 1 which is a 5k run takes participants out the Claremorris Road for 1.5K before turning left in through the local roads for 3k and returning to Hollymount via the Ballinrobe road. \nThe transition will be on the GAA pitch grounds where participants will collect their bikes for the 19k cycle. Again this 19k cycle will take participants out the Claremorris road for 4k before turning left at The Country Club pub. Stage 2 continues through the Roads of Taugheen to Peter Touhey’s pub in Newbrook with a fast 8K finish back to transition in the GAA Grounds. \nStage 3 will be a 3k run which will be one lap of the Hollymount Road Race in reverse to the finish line which will be on the main street in Hollymount Village. \nAll three stages are generally flat and suitable for athletes of all levels with exceptional times expected for the elite athletes\, however\, this duathlon also offers beginners the opportunity to kick start 2019. \nPrizes for top 3 male & female and all age categories. SUMMARY:RunIreland.com Resolution Run
DESCRIPTION:The RunIreland.com Resolution Run 2019 is a fast and flat 5K road race that takes place New Years Day 1st January 2019\, at 11.00 in Galway City Centre. The course routes through the City Centre\, from the Claddagh\, passing Wolfe Tone Bridge \, Merchants Road and the Docks\, and routing back out to Grattan Road and the Prom before a fast finish along South park into the finish at Nimmos Pier. The route passes most of the city’s famous landmarks along the way. The race is AAI certified and there is a superb souvenir gift for all entrants\, Race HQ is Claddagh Hall at South Park\, Galway and race start is beside the park. \nEvent Details and Schedule\nThe race starts promptly at 11am at South Park. Race number pick-up is in the Claddagh Hall located right by the start line between 9.30am and 10.45am on the morning of the race. Entries cost €1onlinene until Dec 18th when the standard rate of €20 applies. Some entries allowed on the day however the race is limited to 400 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir gift\, refreshments after and an official chip time . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . All participants will have an official timed by Red Tag Timing. Individual results will be sent out via text and all results will be available on Facebook and www.redtagtiming.com shortly after the race finish. \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course  Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male and Female Senior \, V40\, and V50 \nThere will be teas\, coffees and snacks available for all participants in The Claddagh Hall after the race. Presentation of prizes will take place at 12.15 pm. \nPlease note that there will be no changing facilities or showers available. Roads will not be closed for the event\, however there will be either marshals or Guards at all junctions to ensure your safety!. \nRegister online HERE

DESCRIPTION:NOTE: 9am START (30 mins earlier than normal) !!! \nNew Year’s Day is the only day when you can get credit for taking part in two parkrun events (a free timed 5k event)!! Come join us and Lees Road parkrun in Ennis for a New Year’s double. \nStart with Limerick parkrun at 9am. Then hop in the car and head to Lees Road parkrun in Ennis for an 11am parkrun. Two parkrun credits in one day 🙂 Can’t get better value than that. You can also take part in just one of the events. \nAs always both events are free. Your existing barcode will work at both events\, so there is no need to register a second time. If you don’t have a barcode you can register for free at www.parkrun.ie/register. Make sure you bring your printed barcode with you on the morning so you get your time and event credit. \nRunners\, walkers\, buggies etc all welcome. (Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times) Spread the word….. \nLimerick parkrun parking\nParking is available in the carpark to the right as you drive down towards the boathouse (after turning left at the roundabout). There is no parking at the boathouse itself. The event starts on the tarmac path just below the carpark (before the boathouse)
