Fields of Athenry 10km\nWith government proposing to ease all restrictions by October\, we are looking forward to hosting our annual Fields of Athenry 10km road race this St. Stephens Day\, Sunday 26th December 2021\, as ever\, finishing under the famous arch in Athenry.\nFor now\, we are proceeding on the basis that the race will go ahead with little to no restrictions and are looking forward to welcoming back all our old (and new) friends who make this event a pilgrimage each year.\nThis race has always held a great social element for many entrants\, with groups of friends and family using the race as a yearly get together (and often finishing down the town with a few scoops afterwards). DESCRIPTION:Who:  Runners\, Joggers\, Slow\, Fast\, Small and Large\, all are welcome \nWhen: Monday 27th December 2021 @ 11.00. \n\nPrice: €25 (+reg fee) Includes a technical ‘turkey’ running tee-shirt \nDetails: 2021 will be the 11th Fat Turkey RUN. \nThis event sells out each year so if you want to guarantee a goodie bag and T-shirt\, please sign up online. \nThe Run will start outside St Fintans Church @11.00.  Registration will be in Suttonians RFC from 09.15. \nThe Fat Turkey 10km event is to support Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924) and the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives\, and help to restore their confidence and independence). \nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintans Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route. \nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip & T-shirt can be collected  from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available. \nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety / event briefing.  Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintans Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11.00 sharp. \nOn completion of the race participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. DESCRIPTION:The Resolution Run 2022 is a fast and flat 5K road race that takes place New Years Day 1st January 2022\, at 10.30  in Galway City Centre. The course routes through the City Centre\, from the Claddagh\, passing Wolfe Tone Bridge \, Merchants Road and the Docks\, and routing back out to Grattan Road and the Prom before a fast finish along South park into the finish at Nimmos Pier. The route passes most of the city’s famous landmarks along the way. The race is AAI certified and there is a superb souvenir gift for all entrants\, Race HQ is Claddagh Hall at South Park\, Galway and race start is beside the park. \nEvent Details and Schedule\nThe race starts promptly at 10.30am at South Park. Race number pick-up is at the Claddagh Hall located right by the start line between 9 and 10am on the morning of the race. Some entries allowed on the day however the race is limited to 300 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir gift\, refreshments after and an official chip time . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . All participants will have an official time. \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course  Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male and Female Senior \, V40\, and V50 \n  \nPlease note that there will be no changing facilities or showers available. This is a looped course for both distances along some quiet country roads and finishing on the old N11. \nWicklow Hospice is the first facility to provide specialist palliative care services for patients and their families in County Wicklow. It is a state-of-the-art purpose-built 15 bed hospice and it’s opening marks the culmination of over ten years of incredible fundraising\, which we actively continue to this day to support the patients under our care and their loved ones. Louth is currently a purpose built six bed-roomed facility that operates under the auspices of the HSE and is currently managed by Rehab Care.\n\n \nThe Maria Goretti Children’s Respite provides residential respite to 80 families who have children with Autism\, Learning Disability or a Physical Disability between the ages of 6-18. Are walkers permitted in the race?\nNo walkers are permitted. \n5. Where are race headquarters?\nKinsale Community School. The race will be signposted on all major routes coming in to Kinsale. \n6. Are there parking facilities available?\nThere will be no parking at Kinsale Community school or on the road directly outside the school. There\nwill be some parking available at Kinsale GAA pitch approx 600m from school. There will be field\nparking available on a parallel road to the school approx 800m walk. This will be signposted and stewards will be on duty in the morning. Kinsale college of further education has some parking approx 200m from the start. There will also be parking around adjacent roads to the school. \n7. Where and when is registration and t-shirt collection?\nTo be confirmed at a later date due to covid considerations \n8. What must I do with the chip?\nThe chip will be attached to your race number. Do not bend or try to fold your number as this could\ndamage the chip and you will not receive a time. Numbers must be worn on the front of your vest/shirt. NOT on the shorts. This is so that the chip can be read accurately. \n9. Can I transfer my number?\nTransfers are not permitted. \n10. Are IPods/ MP3’s permitted? \nI Pods\, MP3’s etc are not permitted for safety on the route. \n11. Are there toilets at the start line?\nToilets are available downstairs in Kinsale Community School gym in the dressing rooms and next door\nto the dressing rooms. There are also toilets inside the front door of the main school building on the ground floor\, the first floor and the second floor in the stairwell. On the first floor there are more toilets at the other end of that corridor. \n12. Are there changing facilities available?\nTo be confirmed at a later date due to covid considerations \n13. Will there be a baggage area?\nThere will be an un-supervised baggage area at the school track area – please do not bring valuables. \n14. Where can I warm up?\nThe track is available as a warm up area. The car park in front of the track and the roads adjacent to the\nschool can also be used. \n15. Where is the race starting?\nThe start line is on the road outside the main gate of Kinsale Community School. \n16. Will there be first aid facilities there?\nRed Cross ambulance will be present at the track and will be driving the route. \n17. DESCRIPTION:New 5k added for 2022!\nThe Race\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Aon Mullingar Half Marathon starts in Mullingar town centre\, runs out to the countryside\, along\nthe royal canal and into the town park to the finish line where you will be met with drink and food to\nrefuel the body and not to mention the all important Mullingar Half Marathon Medal.\nAll runners must register before the race start. Full registration details to follow. The Mullingar Half\nMarathon will be adhering to public health guidelines and we ask all our participants to follow same. \n\n\n\n\n\nRace Route\n\n\n\n\nThe race begins on Pearse Street and finishes in the Mullingar Town Park. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRacers Recieve\n\n\n\n\nWhile the 2020 Mullingar Half Marathon\, scheduled for March 17th\, had to be postponed only weeks before the event\, due to Covid\, the Mullingar Half Marathon organising committee put in a huge amount of work and committed a lot of expenditure putting everything in place in advance of the event. \nIn light of this and in keeping with our move to a more sustainable event\, and our ultimate objective to raise much needed funds for local charity T.E.A.M.\, we are going to utilise the 2020 merchandise for the upcoming 2021 event. SUMMARY:Forth Mountain Trail Run 2022
DESCRIPTION:Forth Mountain Trail Run is a charity run\, in aid of Barntown National School\,  over 13 kilometres of the Three Rocks Trail on Forth Mountain\, just outside Wexford Town. \nThe terrain is made of road\, well maintained gravel trail and short sections of forestry road. \nA family orientated walking event will also be held on the day. \nThis is undoubtedly the most scenic race in the south-east. To the north you can see the entirety of north Wexford\, the Blackstairs Mountains\, as far as Lugnaquilla in the Wicklow Mountains. To the south you can view the Saltee Islands\, Hook Lighthouse\, Rosslare Harbour\, Kilmore Quay and Tuskar Rock Lighthouse. \nCost:\nThe cost of the event is €20 for runners and €10 euro per walker. Family tickets for walkers will cost €25 euro. Register Now CLICK HERE\n \n\n \nRoute:\nBeginning at Barntown School\, the race takes you up to the 1798 Battle Site Carpark\, here runners transition to trail running and meet a steep 400m hill. This is most of the hard work done after two kilometers. Next you pass by the quarry carpark (5k walkers can loop the quarry and head back for school)\, another kilometre on the road and you hit the trail again. This section leads you past Drooping Rock where the views of North Wexford are amazing. 8k Walkers can head back to the finish after here.You will reach Pennylands Car​ Park next and pass the second Water Station.
