SUMMARY:Clontarf 5 mile
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Joe Duffy BMW Clontarf half marathon and 5 mile. This is Ireland’s flattest half marathon and flattest 5 mile. It takes place in the scenic setting of Clontarf Promenade and Bull Island with views of Howth Head and Dublin bay. The race is contained within an off road promenade and Bull Island giving it unique and relaxing appeal. \nBoth races are open to runners/ joggers and walkers. The flat terrain makes it an ideal race to aim for a PB. The half marathon has pacers to help you achieve your Goal. The 5 mile is all on hard surfaced ground. \nBack with a bang after the Sell Out success of July 2018. We have gone with the same formula which attracted 3\,000 walkers\, joggers and runners to this flat course in July. It certainly has the big race atmosphere! Medals and goodies await you at our unique finish line. \nThis is an annual SELL OUT race. Don’t leave it too late to enter \nMEDALS: We will have a new medal for 2018. Watch this space!! \nRun\, Jog or Walk (we have a dedicated walking section) but don’t miss out on the Ápres Marathon race of 2018. Annual SELL OUT event. Places are limited. Enter now to avoid disappointment. \nGo out\, be active\, and most of all enjoy! \nTo enter click on link  https://www.njuko.net/clontarf-half-marathon-2018/select_competition

SUMMARY:Run in the Dark Cork
DESCRIPTION:Run in the Dark Cork takes place on 14th November in Cork city centre at 9.00pm. Join the Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners as we light up the night and take over the streets of the rebel city. \n  \nDESCRIPTION \nEvery November\, as darkness sweeps the globe\, thousands of people in 50 cities will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and hit the streets to Run in the Dark. \nYou can choose between running 5km or 10km… and if your running shoes are a little dusty\, you can even walk the 5km route. \nThe Cork event will leave from Patrick Street at 9.00pm on 14th November. \n  \nWHY YOU SHOULD TAKE PART \nWe know there are lots of running events out there\, so why choose Run in the Dark?! \nApart from being a unique night run taking place in iconic locations around the world\, there’s also an important cause fuelling this fundraising run. Run in the Dark is a global running movement helping to cure paralysis in our lifetime. \nRun in the Dark is organised by the Mark Pollock Trust\, named after blind Irish adventure athlete Mark Pollock. Unbroken by blindness in 1998\, Mark Pollock suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury in 2010 when he fell from a second story window that left him paralysed. As Mark strives to walk again\, his most complex journey is ahead of him – to find a cure for paralysis. \nBy taking part in Run in the Dark you are enabling ground-breaking collaborations and research which could change the lives of millions of paralysed people around the world. \nEvery donation\, every step\, every study\, moves us towards a cure for paralysis and enabling people to walk again.

SUMMARY:Run for Mary 5km Run/Jog/Walk
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 10th November 2018 at 12 noon \nVenue: Peterswell Village\, Co Galway \nThis is our 5th year running this event which has been organised in memory of our dear friend Mary Prendergast who passed away on 2nd January 2014 aged 42 years. Mary was a member of our local South Galway Athletics club and ran the Dublin City Marathon with us in 2004. Mary and Paddy got married in 2004 and were blessed to have three children Carlyn\, Roslyn and Zach. Baby Zach passed away when he was only one week old on June 4th 2012. Mary was diagnosed with cancer five months after loss of her baby Zach. Her courage and dignity during her battle with breast cancer was inspiring to all who knew her. \nAll proceeds from this fundraising event will go to two local charities: Galway Hospice and Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity. Hand in Hand is a non-profit organisation based in Galway since 2006 that supports families who are affected by childhood cancer throughout Ireland. Their aim is to alleviate some of the stress\, anxiety and practical difficulties faced by families who have a child undergoing treatment for cancer\, through the provision of practical (laundry\, childcare\, domestic cleaning and family meals) and emotional support. We are welcoming all athletes\, runners\, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities to attend this memorial event. \nRegistration for the event can be done on Run Ireland. Please see details of race registration below! Please find and like us on Facebook & invite your friends and family www.facebook.com/Run4Mary

Limerick \nRegistration 12.00-12.45pm \, Race Starts at 1.00pm \n(Race Start time has been amended from original start time to 1pm) \nThis year\, the Struggle 10k / 5k is raising funds for the Red Cross\, Doon Community Center & other good causes\nIn spite of the name\, its not the hardest run in the world. The 5k is a pretty easy run. (The 5k is timed but classed as a Fun Run) As for 10k\,(Measured with Jones Counter) It climbs on and off between 1k and 6k\, more of long slow climb\, by the time you get to the 6k marker\, all the work is done\, last 4k is down hill\, it’s a gradual fall and makes the last 4k an easy easy enough run. If you’ve run Dunlickey Hill in Kilkee\, on paper\, this is a harder run\, but running it\, it isn’t any harder\, more of a good test \nThere is a 7k Walk run in conjunction with both runs \n  \n

SUMMARY:Run in the Dark Kerry
DESCRIPTION:Run in the Dark Kerry takes place on Inch beach on 7th November. With the sea spray in our faces we will run a 5k loop along the hard sands of this iconic location. \nEvery November\, as darkness sweeps the globe\, thousands of people in 50 cities will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and hit the streets to Run in the Dark. \nWHY YOU SHOULD TAKE PART \nWe know there are lots of running events out there\, so why choose Run in the Dark?!
