With spectacular views amongst the wind turbines we are offering a 10k\, half marathon and a full marathon distance but the option to do a back to back. SUMMARY:Seven Sisters Mountain Marathon - Ireland’s Toughest Marathon / Half
DESCRIPTION:RACE DETAILS\nThe Seven Sisters Mountain Trail Marathon is a 42k Race incorporating approximately 4\,000m (13\,000ft) of accumulative ascent; a 22k Half Marathon with 2\,000m of ascent organized by Excel Sports. The terrain consists of heathery soft ground\, sheep tracks\, and loose stone / gravel\, and follows a route similar to the Glover Trail. The route will be Marked. \nThe event takes place in Dunlewey\, Co. Donegal. Competitors will experience Donegal at its best with magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding counties. \nFULL MARATHON\nThere will be a 13 hr TIME LIMIT for this event. There will be a STRICT cut off for checkpoints along the way on the course. If you fail to make the checkpoint you will be sent on a lower course to the finish. This is in the interest of safety to all involved. \nHALF MARATHON\nThere is an 8 hr TIME LIMIT for this event. There will be timed checkpoints along the way. If you fail to make a checkpoint you will be sent on a lower course to the finish. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGPS TRACKING\nWe have teamed up with Primal Tracking to introduce Live GPS tracking to the event. Both events will be tracked live! This allows family and friends to follow you throughout the race. This is also essential for Race Organisers to monitor athletes on the mountains for safety reasons. A live page will be available on race day. \nFITNESS\nA high level of fitness is recommended. Experience in off-road running and technical terrain would be beneficial. Experience of races over Half Marathon distances would be necessary to take on this challenging event. \nWALKING\nDue to the nature of the event NO Walkers will be allowed to take part. SUMMARY:Galway Aquathon Festival
DESCRIPTION:Swimming in Lough Corrib and running around the grounds of Dangan on the shores of the river\, the event is expected to attract athletes of all abilities and aspirations from across Ireland. Athletes can choose either a 1km or 2km swim in the Corrib followed by a running loop of 5km taking in the natural beauty and scenery of the towpath along the river bank at Dangan Sportsground. \nThe standard race of a 1000m Swim from Dangan Pier downstream towards Corrib Village Pier is followed by a flat and fast 5k run\, perfect for those wishing to test their speed and try something a little different this Summer. \nThe Long Course is a great test of swim and run ability for those looking for a slightly tougher challenge with a 2k swim and 10K Run.  There’s also the option for a bit of fun in the 2k swim 5k fun race. \nThe Aquathon Festival has something for everyone regardless of previous triathlon experience and is a great opportunity for participants to try out the sport in the short race\, challenge and test themselves in the Long Course or team up with a swimmer or runner for the Relay Race on the Long Course. \nRegistration is via Triathlon Ireland\, with number collection on the day at the Corrib Village Slipway.  For more information on how you can get involved in this fantastic event or to register to race in The Aquathon Festival\, check out the details on Facebook\, or email galwayaquathon@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:The Never Give Up 5k/10/k
DESCRIPTION:The Never Give Up 5k/10k road race is a charity event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. It is taking place on Sunday the 28th of July 2019 in the village of Inch\, Gorey\, Co.Wexford. There is a 5k and a 10k option to choose from and both take you on a scenic loop around the countryside\, once for the 5k and twice for the 10k. The course is an AAI measured route. \nAll proceeds of this event will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society\, the national charity for cancer care here in Ireland. \nHere is a message from the Race Director\, Chris Proby: \n“In August 2015\, just a few months after running the Manchester Marathon\, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-hodgkins lymphoma cancer at the age of just 32. It was aggressive and I was in a bad way\, but thankfully due to a heavy chemotherapy and radiation treatment schedule I got the all clear in 2016\, unfortunately 9 months later I relapsed. After further chemotherapy\, full body radiation\, and a bone marrow transplant I eventually got the all clear again in June 2017. Needless to say it was an incredibly difficult and scary experience. \nRunning was a huge motivator to help me through the treatment\, it helped to keep me focused and determined to win the battle\, twice. While I was in hospital I promised myself that once I beat cancer I would combine my love for running and my difficult cancer experience to create something positive\, which is why I have organised this event. So come and join me in my home village for a great morning out\, on a beautiful scenic route where I first started running\, for a very great cause.” \nRace Details \nOn the day registration will be available from 09.30am on Sunday 28th July 2019 at St Mogue’s Community Centre\, Inch\, Gorey\, Co Wexford. There will be a start line briefing at 11.15am with the race start time at 11.30am sharp. DESCRIPTION:We’re back again in 2019 for the 7th year of our adventure Duathlon. As past compeitors will confirm\, this is a duathlon race with a difference – both fun and hardship are guaranteed! We aim to provide a high standard race at a very affordable price. The race aims to attract beginner to elite racers and we also cater for families with the inclusion of a 5km Trail-run and an Under 16s 5km adventure race. The U16s race was the highlight of our event in 2018\, we over 60 children taking part (& we couldn’t get them off the water slide)! \nAll participants are also included for food and refreshments after the race and visitors have the option to eat their fill for €10. \nTruly a race to challenge the most competitive athlete and the those looking to challenge themselves…and a great way to start the bank holiday weekend! Hope to see you there again this year…bring a friend as we are aiming for 150 in the main event. We are including Chipped Timing for all the races again this year – based on feedback. DESCRIPTION:The 6k run starts in Garrafrauns at 2 pm on the 5th of August and finishes in Dunmore and is an annual event during Dunmore Festival. \nWe have chip timing to ensure this is an enjoyable event for everyone. DESCRIPTION:The Connemara 100 on the West Coast of Ireland is run over a measured and certified course. The 2012 event was AAI permitted and awarded an IAU Bronze Label. This year we celebrate the 11th Anniversary of our 100 mile race.\nThe course is simply fabulous\, taking participants from Clifden through Letterfrack\, Lettergesh\, the Inagh Valley\, Maam Cross\, Leenane\, Inagh Valley again\, then on to Roundstone\, Ballyconneely and back to Clifden to complete 100 miles. \nThere is a 30 hour limit and every participant must have their own crew with them at all times to look after water\, food etc. \nThere will be medical support but because the course stretches over such a long distance there may be up to 25 miles between aid stations. DESCRIPTION:2019 sees the 34th edition of the famous Streets of Galway 8km road race. Since its inception in 1986 the event has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in the country\, yet remains true to its original motto of Sport for All\, as many locals and visitors take on the event year in year out. SUMMARY:Knocknarea 8 Mile Loop
DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Knocknarea 8 Mile Loop Run and Walk takes place on Sunday the 11th of August in Strandhill\, Co. Sligo. Walk kicks off at 10.00am followed at 10.30am by the run. Register online at strandceltic.com. Entry fees are €20 for the run and €10 for the walk.The Knocknarea 8 Mile Loop is sponsored once again by TEGRE sliding wardrobes. Chip timing for the run is provided by Core Timing. \nThe run and walk are open to people of all abilities. The course is essentially an 8 mile loop around the picturesque Knocknarea Mountain starting and finishing in Strandhill. There will be two water stations on the course as well as mile markers to allow contestants to keep track of their progress. Race and walk promise to be a fun event but route includes challenges for both the novice and experienced runner as the course includes two category 5 climbs\, the first of these being the Glen Road. The run has proved to be and ideal warm up for the Warriors Run for many runners over the last few years. \nThere are prizes for all categories and refreshments with be served in the Strand Celtic Clubhouse afterwards. There is a special prize if either of our male or female winners can set a new course record. \nThe run is being held as a fundraiser for Strand Celtic FC.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the BRAND NEW Hillsborough Castle & Gardens Running Festival\, including family races\, a 5k\, a 10k\, and a half marathon! Come and run the inaugural event at Hillsborough Castle on Sunday 18th August 2019 and take the opportunity to race around this unique location! \nThese ROAD CLOSED races will start and finish within the beautiful Grounds of Hillsborough Castle\, before heading out onto the surrounding rural roads of Hillsborough and taking in historic attractions in the local area such as Hillsborough Fort and Hillsborough Lake\, and finishing with a lap of the Gardens before crossing the finish line in the event village. Each mile is accurately marked out with distance flags and we have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and to encourage you on your way to the finish. \n*PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO ROAD CLOSURES THERE IS A STRICT 3 HOUR CUT OFF TIME FOR THE HALF MARATHON!\nYOUR ENTRY WILL INCLUDE:\nChip timed results \nUnique themed medal \nFree official event photos \nGoodie bag \nCome and enjoy the day with us; we hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:Donegal Half Marathon and Team Challenge
DESCRIPTION:NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE. Enter online to secure your place! \n*Special Early Bird OFFER* \nThe full and half marathon races will start at 9.20am on August 18th 2019. \nThere is a Cut-off time of 6 hours for the event\, we therefore do not accept walkers in the Full Marathon.  \nCollection of goody bag and t-shirt will be held at Aura Letterkenny Leisure Centre on Saturday August 17th from 2-6pm and on Sunday August 18th from from 7.30-8.30am. \nRunners will receive their number\, race information\, chip and t-shirt at registration. \nChip accurate times will be recorded for half and full marathon times. \nRunners who complete the race will receive a medal\, chip accurate time and goodie bag. \nThere are a limited number of lockers available in Aura Letterkenny Leisure Centre for €1. \n  \nTEAM CHALLENGE CUP\nWe’re giving runners of all levels the opportunity to team up with two friends\, work colleagues\, family members (or whoever!) and pit their fitness levels against rival teams\, all vying to get their hands on the Donegal Marathon Team Challenge Cup.\nSo\, why not join us on Sunday 18th August 2019 for what promises to be a great team building event for businesses and community groups. Participants can also use the event to raise much-needed funds for their chosen charity. In fact\, we’d encourage charities to get behind the Donegal Team Challenge as well\, by encouraging as many teams as possible to run on your behalf.Change over zones \nEach runner will run 7km\, change over areas at 7km and 14km. \n\nWe are delighted to partner with:
