SUMMARY:COROFIN LOOPS 8k and 10 mile
DESCRIPTION:This year Corofin Athletics Club\, Co. Galway are offering two options for their annual road race\, the usual 8k race following the same route as recent years\, and a new 10 Mile route. The 8k route is very flat\, while the 10-mile route has some hills but nothing too steep or taxing! \nThe 10 Mile race will start at 9.00am\, with the 8k race starting at 9.30am. Race entrants for both races are asked to assemble at the local Community Centre (Dr Duggan Hall) 15 mins prior to the start of their chosen race. \nBoth race routes have been accurately measured and permitted by Athletics Ireland. Red Tag Timing will provide chip timing for both races. \nFirst\, second and third place prizes will be awarded for men and women in each race\, plus multiple age category winners. \nFacilities\nLimited changing facilities will be available at the Community Centre and (non-valuable) items such as tracksuit tops etc. can be left there. Toilet facilities will be available in the Community Centre and post-race refreshments will also be served there. Additional toilets will be available in adjacent facilities. Hydration stations will be provided on both routes. \nRegistration\nEntry for the 8k race is €15 online and €20 on the day. Entry for the 10 Mile race is €20 online and €25 on the day. Online registration can be accessed via: \nhttps://register.primoevents.com/ps/event/CorofinLoops8k10mileraces/ \nOnline registration will close one week before the races. Registration will be open on the Saturday evening (2nd) between 5pm to 7pm and on the morn of the race from 7.30am till 8.30am in the Community Centre where race packs will be available. \nRace Routes\nThe 10 Mile race starts in Corofin Village itself and continues east of the village\, crossing the Tuam-Athenry Road at the Palm Tree pub\, east in the general direction of Ballyglunin\, looping around at Garra\, continuing to Ballinstack\, crossing the Tuam-Athenry Road at the Gills pub and back to the finish line at the Community Centre in Corofin village. \n \nThe 8k race starts at An Dunan just west of Corofin Village. The race follows a loop around Cummer\, via St. Colman’s National School\, Pollinore\, Curry and Curryoughter. A left turn is taken at the crossroad for the last stretch back to the finish line at the Community Centre in Corofin village. \n \nDirections to Corofin\nThe village of Corofin is located south of Tuam. It is easily accessed from the N84 (Galway to Tuam) road\, previously called the N17\, or from the R347 (Athenry to Tuam) road. \nT-shirts for the first 200 registered.

DESCRIPTION:WHERE: GALWAY WIND PARK\, SHANAPHEASTEEN ROAD\, OUGHTERARD\, CO. GALWAY\n(6KM SOUTH-WEST OF OUGHTERARD)\nJoin us for a unique opportunity to take a 9k or 17km night walk along the forest tracks and walking paths through the Galway Windpark under the light of a full moon. Organised with support from Coillte and SSE Ireland\, proceeds from this event will be used to support Galway Mountain Rescue teams long term objective of constructing a dedicated mountain rescue base. \nThe full route is 17.1km long with an altitude gain of 384m. The shorter option (the northern half of the full Fig-8 route) is 9km with an altitude gain of 185m. \nParticipants will be briefed on the walk and will be given a copy of the Walk Route Map. Participants can opt to walk with one of the organised groups which will each be led by a member of Galway MRT or they can choose to follow the route independently with their own friends/family. DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER 2019 8am-4pm\nCLICK “HERE” TO REGISTER NOW  \n\n(Early Bird Special…€50 until 31st August)\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to launch the 7th annual BIKE-2-BOFIN 90k charity cycle from Galway to Inishbofin\, with option of a shorter 45k from Maam Cross.   Cyclists are welcome to participate in either route option: \n90k Route…Galway-Moycullen-Oughterard-Maam-Recess-Clifden-Cleggan-Inishbofin (ferry crossing from Cleggan to Inishbofin). \n45k Route…Cycling group regroup at Maam Cross\, where cyclists participating in the shorter route will join the group.  Maam-Recess-Clifden-Cleggan-Inishbofin (ferry crossing from Cleggan to Inishbofin). \nThis event is open to cyclist of all levels and promises to be both challenging and fun filled with the option of an overnight stay on the island of Inishbofin. \nThis cycle is in support of local charity “Voices for Down Syndrome Galway” (www.downsyndromegalway.ie).  Since its inaugural in 2013\, the event has raised €150k\, a staggering achievement for all involved.  This year a portion of the funds raised will be allocated to the newly opened Down Syndrome Galway West centre.  Based in Moycullen village\, it aims to provide activities\, services and support to children and adults with Down Syndrome in the area and their families.     \nRegistration for Bike-2-Bofin 2019 is now open….Early Bird Special Registration Rate of €50 until 31st August\, €60 thereafter. \nFollowing the success of previous Bike-2-Bofin and the high level of interest in this year’s event\, early registration is advisable.
