SUMMARY:The Fat Turkey 10km
DESCRIPTION:2017 will be the 8th Fat Turkey Run. All participants are required to enter online. The event last year sold out\, so please don’t leave it too late.\nThe Fat Turkey 10km event supports developing rugby in Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924)\, with a donation going towards the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives and help to restore their confidence and independence).\nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintan’s Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route.\nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip\, T-shirt and goodie bags can be collected from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available.\nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety/event briefing. Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintan’s Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11am sharp.\nOn completion of the race\, participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and complimentary tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. Prize giving will take place at the club.\nThere will also be a host of family activities at the club with live music\, hot food and full bar facilities etc.\nCost €23 + Reg Fee. The Fat Turkey Event is a fun-filled family day that has been an enormous success over the last number of years.

DESCRIPTION:Race Entry Fees\nArdagh Challenge 10 mile\, chip timed – €20\nRegister for the 10mile event here\n\nArdagh 5 km fun run\, chip timed – €10 \nRegister for the 5km event here\n\nArdagh 5km walk\, no chipped timing – €5 – Register on the day. \nArdagh Challenge 5km Under 5’s – Free\nRegistration on the day is open in the Community Centre from 11am but if you want to avoid the queues register online.  \nRace Start\n10 mile starts at 1pm\nThe 10 mile start is located at the front entrance of the community centre \nThe 5km race start is at 1:15pm approximately (when 10 mile runners have cleared the village).\nThe 5km race start is located in front of Lyon’s shop.  \nRace Routes\n10 mile\nTravels up through the village past St Brigid’s church before turning around a traffic bollard at about 1 km and coming back through the village.  The route then heads from the village towards the famous Ardagh Mountain (Don’t panic\, it’s only a small mountain) at about 2 mile.  The climb lasts for about 1200m and is quite steep in parts so gauge your effort.  After a nice down-hill section the course is quite flat with a few long inclines up to the finish.\nThe 10 mile route map is available here. \n5 Km\nThe 5 km route is mostly flat or downhill to just after 4km before you climb into the village and towards the finish.  A fast time could be on the cards if you have something left for the finish.\nThe 5km route map is available here.\n \nRace Finish\nThe finish to both races is located on the village green:  \nWhen finished continue forward and follow the road round to the right where you can enter the community centre through the car park back entrance.  (Please do not double back over the race route) \nPlace your race number in the container provided at the finish chute. \n10 mile runners collect their specially commissioned medal in the finish chute. \nPrize Giving\nPresentation of prizes will take place at the community centre from 2:45pm approximately. \nPrizes Categories \n10 mile\nFemale: 1st/2nd/3rd  Cash prize\nMale: 1st/2nd/3rd Cash prize\nOver 40 and over 50 Male and Female: 1st place Trophy \n5km\nMale: Medal for 1st/2nd/3rd\nFemale: Medal for 1st/2nd/3rd\nMale and Female U/16: Medal  for 1st/2nd/3rd   \nNo runner will receive two prizes. Where a runner in the U/16 categories finish in the top 3 overall they will be awarded that prize and the next best finisher in that category will move up. DESCRIPTION:The Resolution Run 2018 is a fast and flat 5K road race that takes place New Years Day 1st January 2018\, at 11.30 in Galway City centre . The course routes through the city centre\, from the Claddagh \, passing the canals\, cathedral\, Shop street\, Eyre Square and most of the city’s famous landmarks along the way. The race is AAI certified. Gift for all entrants\, Race HQ is Claddagh Halll at South Park \, Galway and race start is beside park . \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe race starts promptly at 11.30 at South Park. Race number pickup is in the Claddagh Hall located right by the start line between 10:00 and 11.15 on the morning of the race. Entries cost €18 on-line.  There will be some entries available on the day at the rate of €20  however the race is limited to 500 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir gift\, refreshments after and an official chip time . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . All participants will have an official timed by Red Tag Timing. DESCRIPTION:This is the sixth running of this popular race. The race is usually run in early January each year. Everyone is suited to this race from the fastest\, nippiest racer to Mam or Dad (or Grandma/da) pushing a stroller. The course is like the people around the race\, friendly. The flat roads make for a good time being recorded whatever level of runner or walker you are. The Facility at Wexford FC is second to none and ideal for the after race freshen up and upstairs then for the chat and bite!!!

DESCRIPTION:Born to Run Tralee Marathon Club are proud and excited to bring you the fourth annual Born to Run 40 Mile Ultra Marathon and second 2 person relay while introducing the first running of our 4 person relay. Taking place on Saturday July 28th in the town of Tralee\, this 40 Mile Ultra-marathon consists of ten 4 mile loops.  The course is made up of a relaxing (and flat) 1 mile river walkway (concrete) and country roads (not quiet flat in places). Each loop has two hills of approximately 0.5 miles each and have a climb of about 90 feet each. These hills are immediately followed by an equal downhill section which will be a welcome relief after the climb.

SUMMARY:Hollymount Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural Hollymount Duathlon\, on 14th January 2018\, will be the second event in the Ireland West Duathlon Series 2018. The Duathlon will consist of a 5k run\, a 19k cycle and a 3k run which will start & finish on the main street in the Village of Hollymount. \nStage 1 which is a 5k run takes participants out the Claremorris Road for 1.5K before turning left in through the local roads for 3k and returning to Hollymount via the Ballinrobe road. \nThe transition will be on the GAA pitch grounds where participants will collect their bikes for the 19k cycle. Again this 19k cycle will take participants out the Claremorris road for 4k before turning left at The Country Club pub. Stage 2 continues through the Roads of Taugheen to Peter Touhey’s pub in Newbrook with a fast 8K finish back to transition in the GAA Grounds. \nStage 3 will be a 3k run which will be one lap of the Hollymount Road Race in reverse to the finish line which will be on the main street in Hollymount Village. \nAll three stages are generally flat and suitable for athletes of all levels with exceptional times expected for the elite athletes\, however\, this duathlon also offers beginners the opportunity to kick start 2018. \nPrizes for top 3 male & female and all age categories. Also\, valuable points to be won for the Ireland West Duathlon series

DESCRIPTION:5K Night run through the streets of Wexford. Starting on the Quay and incorporating The Faythe\, The Main Street and back to The Quay for refreshments. This will be a light-hearted\, fun event with lots of colour\, music and laughter. There will be music en route to encourage participants. Both runners and walkers are welcome. It is a flat course ideal for a PB and first-timers. \n
