SUMMARY:Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival **Postponed**
DESCRIPTION:This event has been postponed due to COVID19 \nLough Cutra Castle in Gort is the backdrop to this action-packed weekend of triathlon racing in Gort\, Co. Galway. This first race of the Castle Triathlon series in 2020 sets the scene for a competitive and fun series\, hosted within the beautiful grounds of the Castle and surrounding area of stunning South Galway. \nAll of the triathlon races at Lough Cutra Castle kick-off by launching into an open-water swim in the lake\, transitioning to the bike route which circumnavigates Lough Cutra itself with The Half Iron Gauntlet cycle taking in the beautiful and breathtaking Burren National Park whilst the run features a mixed terrain in the stunning surroundings of the Castle. \nThis year’s event promises to be an amazing festival of triathlon & multisport with events of various distances to test those chasing a personal best and embrace those who are dipping their toes into the sport of triathlon for the very first time. \n\n\nSwim & Run Only\n\nIn 2018 we introduced our Castle Run Series and Castle Swim Series which saw swimmers and runners enjoy the fun of racing a single sport amidst the full-on atmosphere of a busy triathlon festival. In 2019 these events proved to be very popular and are expected to sell out in 2020. \n\nSwim only events will be held once again with three swim only distances; 1 mile\, 2.5km and 5km\, suitable for those wishing to dip their toes into the sport of open water swimming or test their open water swim ability over a longer distance. \nThe 10k & Half Marathon participants can enjoy the fabulous estate at Lough Cutra Castle providing runners of all abilities with the opportunity to enjoy an off road\, scenic and stunning course which has previously only been open to athletes participating in one of the triathlon events. \nMultiSport in 2020\nWe introduced three new race formats in 2019 with options for both sprint and standard distances across all three events and w3ill once again offer them for 2020.  These events offer athletes the opportunity to pick their strongest two disciplines and race in their preferred format across the following races: \nAquabike- Swim & Bike\nAquathlon Swim & Run\nDuathlon – Run\, Bike Run \n\nThere are a host of junior races on offer for the aspiring young athlete across the weekend so come with the family and fanclub\, enjoy the racing and festival atmosphere regardless of age or ability and make Lough Cutra your destination race in 2020. \n\nThere is something for everyone at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon & Multi-Sport festival in 2020\, check out all the details on www.loughcutratri.ie.  Follow us on Facebook HERE

SUMMARY:Rock Runners A.C. Virtual Run
DESCRIPTION:DATES – Friday 1 st May 2020 – Saturday 16 th May 2020\n2. ABOUT – Everybody just wants to help don’t they? In a difficult and sometimes distressing set of circumstances such as where we find ourselves at present with the coronavirus pandemic\, it’s important to remember we’re all in this together. With that in mind\, a group of eager runners from South West Fermanagh have decided to\, well\, er….. go running. And anyone else who’d like to join with us. Sure it’ll look a bit different with the lockdown restrictions. Running will be virtual and in isolation. But between the above dates\, the Rock Runners from Derrylin are inviting runners of all abilities to run whatever\nyou can and for an extra bit of fun you can take a video of yourself and send it to our Facebook Page. Suggested distances are between 3 and 6 miles but you can run less or more as you see fit. So hands up who’s ready for a bit of virtual running action….. \n\n3. THE CAUSE – Marie Curie is a well known and respected organisation working in the local community (and all across the UK). They provide care and\nsupport for around 2\,500 people living with a terminal illness in Northern Ireland each year. Of course at this present time their workload gets no smaller and indeed bigger in many ways with their services also being called upon by local nursing homes where necessary. In these extraordinary times\, Marie Curie has launched an ‘emergency appeal’ as per the link below and all proceeds from our fundraising run will go towards this appeal so that people’s lives can continue to be valued in the local area\nhttps://www.mariecurie.org.uk/donate\nUpon registering through a portal set up by njuko you will receive your confirmation details and these will also be emailed to your given address. An option to donate your agreed amount will be available or you can leave it until after you have completed your challenge \n4. Club facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/rockrunnersderrylin/
