SUMMARY:Leenane 5 Mile Run | Jog | Walk
DESCRIPTION:Why not join the local run in aid of the upkeep of Leenane/Maam Red Cross ambulance! \nThe third Sunday in November\, November the 18th\, will see the tenth running of the Leenane 5 Mile. The event is open to all\, from elite runners to joggers and walkers. \nThe entry fee is 15 euro for an individual and 25 euro for a family. All monies raised go towards the upkeep of the Leenane/Maam Red Cross Ambulance. Registration is available through runireland.com\, via our website and limited registration will also be available on the day. Pick up your race number in the Community Centre\, Leenane\, from 12noon onwards. \nThe race starts at 2pm. Every participant receives a medal and there will be refreshments available in the Community Centre directly after the race. Get back early for some of the famous post-race cake! \nThere will be prizes for the first\, second and third male and female. The run starts at the Hotel in Leenane\, comes through the village and out the Westport Road\, turning right and around the beautiful townland of Glan\, then back into Leenane to finish in the village at the main car park. The surroundings are breathtaking as the route closely follows the shoreline of Killary Fjord. \nThe event is perfect for adventure racers and road runners who want to hold onto the fitness they have earned during the summer\, and 5 miles a very achievable distance if you are a first-timer. DESCRIPTION:The 8th running of the Castleblayney SuperValue 5km road race. AAI certified and approved the course which is run on closed roads and is on the same fast course as the previous year. \nThe race will commence at 2pm sharp with registration online at €10 or on the day for €15. \nU14 2k Juvenile Race at 1pm for €5 entry on the day with all receiving finishers medals.\nThe race is chip timed and attracts a large field every year with plenty of potential for a PB. \nAll finishers will receive a medal with category prizes for male and female in a number of categories. \nRefreshments and presentation will take place afterwards in The Glencarn Hotel\, a short distance from the finish. Dressed in your Christmas fancy dress and running along a scenic 5k route that meanders its way around the historic streets of Kinsale\, you’ll be feeling fit and festive as you cross the finish line in the town’s centre. \nChase Santa around ‘Ireland’s Foodie Town’ as you pass cafes\, restaurants and shops. After the run\, you can enjoy a warm meal in the gourmet capital. \nSanta’s elves will present prizes to the first boy and girl under 12 across the line\, the first male and female finishers\, and the first child (under 8)-guardian combination to finish the run together. Santa will also picked the best dressed runner to win something special. Anyone giving Santa’s Helpers/race stewards a hard time will get a lump of coal in their stocking. \nRegistration is at Actons Hotel from 10am to 11am. The race start is at 11.30am in the Town Park. SUMMARY:Fat Turkey Run
DESCRIPTION:2018 will be the 9th Fat Turkey Run. All participants are required to enter online. The event sells out every year so please ensure you sign up online. \nThe Fat Turkey 10km event supports developing rugby in Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924)\, with a donation going towards the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives and help to restore their confidence and independence). \nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintan’s Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route. \nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip\, T-shirt and goodie bags can be collected from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available. \nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety/event briefing. Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintan’s Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11am sharp. \nOn completion of the race\, participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and complimentary tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. Prize giving will take place at the club. \nCost €24 + Reg Fee. DESCRIPTION:Our annual Ardagh 10 Mile Challenge takes place on a scenic\, point-to-point course during the peak of Winter. DESCRIPTION:Clonliffe Harriers` annual ‘ERP Christmas Cracker 5k’ is now open for entry entry on line. The race will take place on December 30th at 11.00. The race takes place on the roads around the Morton Stadium in Santry\, with both the start and finish on the track in Morton Stadium. \nOnline entry is available on www.runireland.com. While entry is also taken on the day runners and walkers are requested to make it easier all round and avail of on line entry. \nClonliffe Harriers would encourage all our entrants to raise some badly needed funds for ALONE. ALONE provides Supportive Housing\, Befriending\, Community Support and Campaigning services to hundreds of older people every week\, who are homeless\, socially isolated\, living in deprivation or in crisis. Our very own CHAC stalwart\, Jeremy Chapman also serves on the board of ALONE\, so let’s try and raise as much as funds as possible for a good cause. \nThe ERP 5k Christmas Cracker is also offering the chance for all entrants in the race to win some spot prizes.
