Join the Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners as we light up the night and take over the streets of the rebel city. \n  \nDESCRIPTION \nEvery November\, as darkness sweeps the globe\, thousands of people in 50 cities will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and hit the streets to Run in the Dark. \nYou can choose between running 5km or 10km… and if your running shoes are a little dusty\, you can even walk the 5km route. \nThe Cork event will leave from Patrick Street at 9.00pm on 14th November. \n  \nWHY YOU SHOULD TAKE PART \nWe know there are lots of running events out there\, so why choose Run in the Dark?! \nApart from being a unique night run taking place in iconic locations around the world\, there’s also an important cause fuelling this fundraising run. Run in the Dark is a global running movement helping to cure paralysis in our lifetime. \nRun in the Dark is organised by the Mark Pollock Trust\, named after blind Irish adventure athlete Mark Pollock. Unbroken by blindness in 1998\, Mark Pollock suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury in 2010 when he fell from a second story window that left him paralysed. As Mark strives to walk again\, his most complex journey is ahead of him – to find a cure for paralysis. \nBy taking part in Run in the Dark you are enabling ground-breaking collaborations and research which could change the lives of millions of paralysed people around the world. \nEvery donation\, every step\, every study\, moves us towards a cure for paralysis and enabling people to walk again.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the annual viking coastal run of 2018. \nThis is our 8th year running the race and is dedicated to the 2 time Olympian Noel Carroll. This year celebrates his 20th anniversary. \nThe course weaves itself around the picturesque countryside of annagassan and then onto the beautiful backdrop of the dundalk bay and cooley and mourne mountains before finishing in the middle of the village. \nIt is without doubt that its the most scenic 10k in the northeast and lends itself to PB’s being achieved. We call it the APRES MARATHON 10K.

DESCRIPTION:Why not join the local run in aid of the upkeep of Leenane/Maam Red Cross ambulance! \nThe third Sunday in November\, November the 18th\, will see the tenth running of the Leenane 5 Mile. The event is open to all\, from elite runners to joggers and walkers. \nThe entry fee is 15 euro for an individual and 25 euro for a family. All monies raised go towards the upkeep of the Leenane/Maam Red Cross Ambulance. Registration is available through runireland.com\, via our website and limited registration will also be available on the day. Pick up your race number in the Community Centre\, Leenane\, from 12noon onwards. \nThe race starts at 2pm. Every participant receives a medal and there will be refreshments available in the Community Centre directly after the race. Get back early for some of the famous post-race cake! \nThere will be prizes for the first\, second and third male and female. The run starts at the Hotel in Leenane\, comes through the village and out the Westport Road\, turning right and around the beautiful townland of Glan\, then back into Leenane to finish in the village at the main car park. The surroundings are breathtaking as the route closely follows the shoreline of Killary Fjord. \nThe event is perfect for adventure racers and road runners who want to hold onto the fitness they have earned during the summer\, and 5 miles a very achievable distance if you are a first-timer.
