DESCRIPTION:Now in its 35th year\, the Simon Home Run (www.Homerun.ie) is the longest running charity event in the Phoenix Park and Dublin Simon Community’s largest fundraising event of the year. DESCRIPTION:Ox Mountain Challenge Run 2018 \n  \nThe 2nd Annual Ox Mountain Challenge is a10 mile Road Race / Mountain Run with a half way split. It is a Community Run that will take place on Saturday October 6th at 1.00 p.m.  \n  \nSkreen / Dromard Community Centre will be the base for the Run where registration\, briefing\, parking and changing facilities will be available .The Community Centre is located on the main Sligo- Ballina Road (N59) approx. 6 miles from Ballisadare. Runners can pick up their Race Tags etc on Friday 6th from 7pm – 10pm & and on the morning of the run from 10am – 12am.  Late registration will be available during both time slots. \nTo accommodate fitness of all levels a team relay of 4 X 2.5 mile race will be available along with a 4 mile run / walk .This run will be a smaller loop of the 10 mile run but will have the same start and finish. As this is a new run on the athletic Club Calendar early entry is advisable. Online registration is through Core Timing and will close one week before race day. Different Category prizes to be won on the day\, full details to be published later.  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Lake Region Medical 4 Mile Fun Run/2 Mile Walk takes place on Sunday 7th October at 12:30pm on the scenic grounds of the JFK Arboretum just outside New Ross in County Wexford.\nThis charity event is in aid of the Educate Together\, National School\, New Ross and St Patrick’s Special School\, Enniscorthy. \n \nThe day will commence with registration from 11:30am and events kicking off with the “Lake Region Kiddies Dash” at 12:30pm which covers distances of up to 80 meter sprints for kids from the ages of 4 to 12 years old (kids go free). DESCRIPTION: \n \nBIKE-2-BOFIN 13TH OCTOBER 2018\n \n \nPAST PARTICIPANTS AND FELLOW CYCLING ENTHUSIAST……\n \nWe are delighted to launch the 6th year of this 90k charity cycle from Galway to Inishbofin\, with option of a shorter 45k from Maam Cross. This event is open to cyclist of all levels and promises to be both challenging and fun filled with the option of an overnight stay on the island of Inishbofin \n \n90k Route …Galway-Moycullen-Oughterard-Maam-Recess-Clifden-Cleggan-Inishbofin (ferry crossing from Cleggan to Inishbofin).\n \n45k Route…Cycling group regroup at Maam Cross\, where cyclists participating in the shorter route will join the group.  Maam-Recess-Clifden-Cleggan-Inishbofin (ferry crossing from Cleggan to Inishbofin). \nThis cycle is in support of local charity “Voices for Down Syndrome Galway” (www.downsyndromegalway.ie).  Since its inaugural in 2013\, the event has raised €125k\, a staggering achievement for all involved. This year a portion of the funds raised will be allocated to a new project being run by Down Syndrome Galway. This project is based in Moycullen and aims to provide activities\, services and support to children and adults with Down Syndrome in the area.    \n \nRegistration for Bike-2-Bofin 2018 is now open….Early Bird Special Registration Rate of €50 until 25th August\, €60 thereafter.\n \nFollowing the success of previous Bike-2-Bofin and the high level of interest in this year’s event\, early registration is advisable. The race turns left towards Curry village and proceeds to Curryoughter where a left turn is taken at cross road for the last stretch back to the Finish line in Corofin village at the local Community Centre. The route has been permitted by Athletics Ireland.\nDirections:\nThe village of Corofin is located quite close to Tuam.\nIt is easily accessed from the N17 (Galway to Tuam) or via the N347 (Athenry to Tuam). There will be some signage of the road indicating that there is a race up ahead.\nFun Run:\nFollowing the sucess of last years ‘Fun Run’ there will also be a short childrens race on the day for children of national school age. Prizes will be provided to all children who enter. The fun run takes place at 1pm.\nRegistration:\nRegistration will take place on the day from 11:30am to 1:30pm in local community centre.\nPrizes: First\, second and third place prizes awarded for men and women\, prizes also given for category winners. \nFirst 200 entries receive race t-shirt.
