SUMMARY:Connemara 100
DESCRIPTION:The Connemara 100 on the West Coast of Ireland is run over a measured and certified course. The 2012 event was AAI permitted and awarded an IAU Bronze Label.\nThe course is simply fabulous\, taking participants from Clifden through Letterfrack\, Lettergesh\, the Inagh Valley\, Maam Cross\, Leenane\, Inagh Valley again\, then on to Roundstone\, Ballyconneely and back to Clifden to complete 100 miles. \nThere is a 30 hour limit and every participant must have their own crew with them at all times to look after water\, food etc. \nThere will be medical support but because the course stretches over such a long distance there may be up to 25 miles between aid stations. So experienced crew support is essential and mandatory. \nThis year we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our 100 mile race. \nEntry is available HERE

SUMMARY:Little Luna 5k
DESCRIPTION:On the 13th of  February 2018\, our beautiful little girl Luna stopped breathing and required immediate CPR to keep her heart pumping and oxygen to her brain.  The emergency services were outstanding on this day\, providing exceptional care for our daughter.  When transferred to Temple Street Hospital\, many of the medical team from Sligo General Neonatal travelled with Luna to Dublin  to ensure she would not be at risk during the journey.  When we arrived in Temple Street Hospital the medics were outstanding. However we found ourselves in Dublin City with no place to stay. We were offered a helping hand by the founders of Hugh’s House. This house provided us with accommodation and somewhere to stay for the duration of Luna’s stay in hospital.  Following a week or so in Temple Street\, Luna had decompression surgery on her Foramen Magnum. The support we received from the hospital\, medics and The Little People Ireland community was nothing short of amazing.  Thankfully\, Luna has made a full recovery.  We feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with such amazing people on what was our darkest days.  As a token of our appreciation\, we will be holding a 5k run event on Sunday 2nd September  to fundraise and give back to the key organisations & foundations that helped us during this time. These include; Sligo General Neonatal\, Little People Ireland and Hugh’s House.  All of these organisations need a lot of funding but they depend greatly on voluntary contributions.

SUMMARY:Tour de Bens
DESCRIPTION:Tour de Bens 2018\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2018 Tour de Bens takes place in Connemara on Saturday\, September 8th.The event\, in its second year\, has a choice of two routes – 125km and 85km. Both routes start and finish in Clifden.  The routes will showcase the beauty of Connemara while always keeping the Twelve Bens mountains in sight.\nWe all look forward to a wonderful day of sightseeing and safe cycling.\n\nThe 125km route starts with the breath-taking Sky Road and then turns left along Streamstown Bay\, Omey Island at Claddaghduff and into the fishing village of Cleggan. We have a nice little climb out of Cleggan before re-joining the n59 towards Letterfrack.  Once we turn left in Letterfrack\, the kettle will be boiling for a well-earned food stop in Tullycross village. \nOnce refreshed\, off we go through the picturesque Lettergesh area and along by the shores of Lough Fee where we again re-join the n59. We turn right in the direction of Kylemore and down the iconic Inagh valley. Many a hardy soul longed for the end of that valley!  \nAt the end of the Inagh valley we join the N59 and continue in the direction of Clifden. Now we have a treat in store! We take a left turn and head down through the townland of Ballynahinch and its magnificent estate on towards the picturesque harbour village of Roundstone. Here we will have some refreshments laid out before the final push for Clifden. \nThe 85km route will also start with the Sky Road loop but then will continue on the N59 onto Letterfrack. Again\, the kettle will be on the boil for a food stop in Tullycross village. Once the hunger pangs have been dealt with\, we head through Lettergesh along the same route as the 125km route. The 85km route will have a refreshment stop at Ballynahinch. There is a treat for the 85km group too. We will be taking a right turn 3km after Ballynahnch and heading for Clifden using the Bog Road route. This is a spectacular route and offers one of the best views in Connemara of the iconic Twelve Bens mountain range.
