DESCRIPTION:June 12th Full Marathon & Half Marathon \nThe Donegal Wild Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon is becoming one of Ireland’s iconic road marathons\, running entirely along the Wild Atlantic Way.\nThe marathon starts at Killybegs and finishes at Glencolmcille village\, whereas the Half marathon starts and finishes at Glencolmcille. The finish line by the stunning Glencolmcille beach provides the perfect setting for the ice cream and beer refreshments at the finish line.\nThe event attracts many international runners. Currently 25 countries are represented for the 2022 edition with 40 participants from North America joining the event\, with what will be one of the running highlights in Ireland this summer. The course is 13.1 miles\, so one loop for the half marathon two for the full and three for the ultra. The 10k runs on part of the same course leaving it at 5.5k mark and re-joining it at the 8k\, with all finishers coming together for the last 2k to the finish line where you will be greeted by our Race Director who will be there for the first to last finisher. With light refreshments served after you finish to make a great weekend for all running\, walking and rolling.  Tullaroan is full of rolling hills and delightful declines surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the countryside. With onsite parking and camping and shower facilities you can make a weekend of it arriving Friday evening and pitching you tent or campervan. DESCRIPTION:The 10th edtion of the annual \nRith Beo 5k & 10k Race \nwill take place on Sunday 29th May at 11am \nThe race is starting and finishing in the grounds of the Gaelscoil Osraí \nThere will be a 10Km & 5Km chip timed race \nThere is also an option to enter a 5km Team race (mixed team of up to 4 with 3 to score) which will include virtual entries. \nA family non chipped 3Km event will be available on the day which is kindly sponsored by Tip Top Toes\, Market Yard Kilkenny. \nThere is also the option to run the race as a virtual race which can be run in the week leading up to the official race\, a link will be provided for times to be uploaded prior to the start of the actual event at 11am on the 29th May. \nAs always this race will be a very social event with music and food in the grounds of the school immediately afterwards.  The race is the main fundraiser for the school and the monies raised are used to enhance the lives of the pupils\, all support is greatly appreciated. \nFabulous Bespoke medal for all finishers.

SUMMARY:River Moy Half Marathon 2022
DESCRIPTION:The course starts and finishes at the Ballina Rugby Club\, Creggs Rd\, Ballina\, Co.Mayo.\nWe’re expecting a brilliant atmosphere as family members\, friends and supporters will be able to see competitors throughout the course. \nThe half marathon route is relatively flat with a few challenging hills along the way. Most of the half marathon will be run on roads on either side of the banks of the River Moy. Just over one mile of the course will take participants through Belleek Woods. There is an excellent trail surface on this part of the scenic terrain\, which is used daily by local runners and walkers in hail\, rain or shine! \nEntry costs €35. If you register before the 13th of May your pack will be posted. This will include\, t-shirt and race number. You will be ready to go and will save you time and avoid collection queues. (overseas registrations will need to collect pack on the morining or race) \nThere will be a late entry fee on race day\, in order to encourage people to sign up online before race day. Also please be aware that race day entries are not guaranteed a technical top. \n

DESCRIPTION:One of the Irelands top races is back again. The award winning Bweeng 5k attracts some of Irelands strongest runners but also provides plenty for the club runner and the social runner. DESCRIPTION:The 11th running of the Ballintotis 4 mile road race\, hosted by Ballintotis Area Community Council and held in association with East Cork AC\, will take place this year on Thursday April 21st (starting time 8pm.) The organising committee are delighted to be back again on the race calendar\, following the enforced break due to the covid pandemic in 2020 and 2021. \nIn 2010\, the first staging of the race took place and attracted 425 runners\, a figure which at that time well exceeded the organisers’ expectations. \nOur last race in 2019 which was our 10th anniversary race saw a record breaking 1240 finishers. \nThat aforementioned 2010 race got fund raising underway for Ballintotis Community Centre which has since been built and is now the hub of the race.. The event formerly took place in Castlemartyr\, but East Cork AC moved the race to Ballintotis\, which has proved a hugely popular location\, with the venue boasting in excess of 1\,000 participants on a number of occasions. The scenic 4 mile loop includes a lap of road bordering Loughaderra Lake in the closing stages. \nGreat Prize List \nAgain this year’s race offers great value for money with a very attractive prize structure overall and a full list of category prizes in all age groups (1st 2nd and 3rd) as well as the opportunity to win one of the many spot prizes on offer. \nCastlemartyr Resort will again sponsor the top prize of overnight accomodation for 2 people both the male and female winners. \nTrabolgan Holiday Village have again confirmed that they will sponsor a Family Weekend Away or Mid Week stay for both the race runner up and ladies runner up. Once more Garryvoe Hotel Leisure Centre have come on board with a magnificent prize for the third runners home\, in the shape of six months membership to their superb facility. \nAs well as the famous Ballintotis Buff again kindly sponsored by Simon Ahern of Ahern’s Centra\, J.J Coppingers’\, Midleton are again on board to help sponsor a goody bag for all finishers. \nRegistration Update \nRegistration is open on line from Friday February 4th. Registration costs 15 euro including service charge\, with the option of availing of your race number being posted out for an additional cost. \nExciting Race History \nIn the inaugural race James McCarthy took top spot with a time of 19:54. McCarthy went onto win the race a remarkable eight times in a row\, his best time being 19:23 set in 2016. Then in 2018 … a new man was on the podium as another East Cork A.C competitor Michael Harty won in style and in the process set a new course record of 19:15\, with the previous record also being broken by Sergiu Ciobanu who was runner up. Our last race in 2019 saw a new name on the roll of honour – as yet another East Cork Man – Kevin O’Brien broke the tape in a time of 20.13. \nThe entry was a remarkable 1\,170 runners in 2015. Irish Olympian Sonia O Sullivan was among those taking part that year following up on her previous visit in 2013. \nFellow Olympian Lizzy Lee from Leevale is the ladies course record holder (21:22)\, with her Irish International colleague Claire McCarthy posting the second fastest time around the course.
