DESCRIPTION:Event Details for the Carney Lissadell 10K \nABOUT THE EVENT: This\, the 14th annual Carney Lissadell 10K Road Race\, will take place on Easter Monday\, April 2nd 2018. It is one of the most popular 10k events of the year\, with over 350 participants last year alone. The event includes a 10k Road Race\, a 10k Walk\, and kids fun races beforehand. All registrations will be in the Oxfield Community Centre. The event is AAI licenced. There will be the usual generous prize fund for a large number of categories and post-race refreshments in Oxfield for all participants. This year we delighted to confirm that Sligo based Core Timing will be providing chip timing services.  As usual the event raises much needed funds for some very worthy local community organisations\, namely the 11th Sligo Benbulben Scouts and the Oxfield Community Centre. \nREGISTRATIONS: Online: €15\, see www.runireland.com. On The Day: €18. SUMMARY:Liquid Motion Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:Liquid Motion Duathlon is taking place on the 8th of April and is the 8th race in the Ireland West Duathlon series. \nThe event is suitable for all abilities and the route is generally flat with some short hills. The race takes place in the seaside village of Enniscrone and takes in the beautiful beach and coast line of the surrounding areas. \nThe first run starts at the pier where transition is staged and follows the road down to the strand where competitors follow the markers to the turnaround. After returning on the same route to transition to collect your bike you will be marshaled out to a side road which joins the main Enniscrone to Easkey road.  The bike is a very fast out and back 20km course\, which follows the coast to the small village of Rathlee where you will meet the turn around point. The return route is the same road back and is mostly flat with one or two small hills when leaving Enniscrone. The 2nd run is a short 2.5km and is again flat and fast to burn what energy you have left. The course has some spectacular scenery and is not to be missed. \nPrizes for the top 3 male and female\, with some age categories thrown in for good measures. \n**Please note a Triathlon Ireland Licence is not required for this event. \nWe want to wish all competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing you all on the day.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s 5k Glow Run will be held in memory of Jacinta O’Brien\, a former member of the Physical Education and Sports Science Department in UL who sadly passed away from SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) in 2004. Jacinta completely immersed herself in the UL community\, in sport and within the PESS faculty. In remembrance of her passing\, each year a charity run is organized by the 2nd year Sport and Exercise Science students. \nThis year\, all the money raised from the run will be donated to Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Limerick Suicide Watch. Temple Street Hospital was chosen for their vital work in providing medical treatment for children throughout Ireland. Limerick Suicide watch aims to help people in distress or that may be feeling suicidal. Each week patrol teams are sent out to keep eyes on the river and be of assistance to anyone in need.
