DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. DESCRIPTION:The course starts and finishes at the Ballina Rugby Club\, Creggs Rd\, Ballina\, Co.Mayo.\nWe’re expecting a brilliant atmosphere as family members\, friends and supporters will be able to see competitors throughout the course. \nThe half marathon route is relatively flat with a few challenging hills along the way. Most of the half marathon will be run on roads on either side of the banks of the River Moy. Just over one mile of the course will take participants through Belleek Woods. There is an excellent trail surface on this part of the scenic terrain\, which is used daily by local runners and walkers in hail\, rain or shine! \nEntry costs €40. If you register before the 12th of May your pack will be posted. This will include\, t-shirt and race number. You will be ready to go and will save you time and avoid collection queues. We have come a long way since Head Coach Kenneth O’Driscoll founded Cherry Orchard Running Club in 2013.\nKenneth began with finding his own passion for running and wondered “why is everyone in Ballyfermot not out running”? He encouraged his friends and family to get out with him\, and soon a little crew was formed and they spent many a weekend running through the Phoenix Park. \nKenneth’s crew grew larger and larger and over time he linked in with Familibase to become an official AAI recognised Running Club\, the first in Ballyfermot May I add!\nCoach Ken (as he’s now known) not only had a crew to run with\,he now had a team of supports and soon the club evolved to an adult and kid club. Currently we have over 200 registered members both adults and kids. \nWe participate in races all over Ireland and our sea of Orange is recognisable for miles. \nNow it’s your turn to join our race and help us celebrate our big birthday! \n

You can also view a Garmin interactive view of the proposed route. \nThe Half on the Head follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballyheigue Village right around the Kerryhead loop before ending up back at the start point. The 13.1 mile run takes you along one of the most unspoilt portions of the Wild Atlantic Way. Run beside the Shannon Estuary with views across the river mouth to the coast of Clare. Glancing back you will see the rugged Kerry coastline stretching to the town of Ballybunion. You might even catch a glimpse of the fabled Cliffs of Dooneen. Upon rounding the point of Kerryhead you will experience the magnificent panorama of Tralee Bay with Mount Brandon and the Maherees as a backdrop. Further along you have stunning views of the coastline stretching from Ballyheigue beach to Banna and Fenit with Blennerville Windmill in the distance. The first half of the course meanders gradually uphill before levelling out at the point of Kerryhead and then beginning a steeper decent back towards the village. Visit our BLOG for details on how best to tackle the route. \nThere are three water stations on the Half Marathon Route (at roughly the 3.5 mile\, 7 mile and 10 mile markers). There are two toilet stops (At the two schools by the 2 mile and 10 miles markers). \nThe 10K route follows the first 5k of the Half Marathon route. Just after the water stop It makes its way back towards Kerryhead before a descent to the cliff road and a run alongside the sea to the finish. T-shirts will also be on sale at a subsidised price. All participants will receive a number with timing chip. DESCRIPTION:Race2Glory is a multi-sport adventure race involving cycling\, running and a river run\, taking place on the 8th July 2023 in Kiltimagh\, Co. DESCRIPTION:Killala GAA club together with the Clarke family are proud to introduce the Ronan Clarke 10K run and 5K run/walk. This years event takes place at Killala community center on Sunday July 23rd at 12 noon. \nThe event includes two separate routes for both 10K & 5K races. The event is suitable to all levels of runners aswel as walkers of all ages. \nEach runner / walker will register prior to the race and completion times will be recorded for each participant and made available after the race. \nAs always all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mayo/Roscommon hospice and the Killala GAA benevolent fund. \nRegistration will take place from 11am in Killala community center and refreshments will be served after the race and prior to presentations.
