DESCRIPTION:The 16th Fields of Athenry 10km will take place on St. Stephen’s Day\, December 26th at 11am. \nOver the last number of years\, this has become one of the leading road races in the country\, and we aim to continue to improve the event. The race will be held on its traditional route\, finishing under the medieval arch in Athenry. DESCRIPTION:Following on from the success of last year\, the Wild Goose Chase 10k and 5k returns for the 6th time on Saturday\, 2nd December 2017 at 12 noon starting and finishing at the Westerns GFC\, Reaghstown\, Ardee (off N2 between Ardee and Carrickmacross opposite Dooley’s pub). All proceeds go to Ardee Hospice Homecare and redevelopment of Westerns Grounds. \nEach year this event has gone from strength to strength and is now a fixture in the diary of many running clubs\, sports teams and fun runners/walkers in the North East and beyond. Last year no less than 5 counties were represented.\nThe course follows a beautiful countryside route with magnificent views of the Cooley Mountains and Slieve Gullion. Each participant receives a run number\, official time\, flashing armband\, goody bag at the finish line\, and an official race certificate. Prepaid teams of 5 or more get their spaces reserved\, free postage and packing\, and the team leader gets a long-sleeve tech top. \nAs darkness falls around the world\, 25\,000 people in 50 cities around the world will Run in the Dark together to help fast-track a cure for paralysis. Run in the Dark is the main fundraiser of the Mark Pollock Trust\, whose mission is to fast-track a cure for paralysis by creating global collaborations and funding groundbreaking scientific research. This year\, by raising €500\,000\, Run in the Dark will help to fund more global collaborations and multi-subject research trials. Every €30 raised covers one day of clinical research fees. \nWhy Run in the Dark? \nThere is no cure for paralysis or any meaningful therapies for millions of people around the world with spinal cord injury. 7 out of 10 never work again after spinal cord injury and 4 out of 10 live below the poverty line. But the Mark Pollock Trust aims to change this reality by finding and connecting people around the world to fast-track a cure for paralysis. The Mark Pollock Trust’s main fundraiser – the Run in the Dark – plays a vital part in funding this mission. \n€1.50 transaction fee (all entry fees go directly to the Mark Pollock Trust)

DESCRIPTION:Why not join the local run in aid of the upkeep of Leenane/Maam Red Cross ambulance! \nThe third Sunday in November\, November the 19th\, will see the ninth running of the Leenane 5 Mile. The event is open to all\, from elite runners to joggers and walkers. \nThe entry fee is 15 euro for an individual and 25 euro for a family. All monies raised go towards the upkeep of the Leenane/Maam Red Cross Ambulance. Registration is available through runireland.com\, via our website and limited registration will also be available on the day. Pick up your race number in the Community Centre\, Leenane\, from 12noon onwards. \nThe race starts at 2pm. Every participant receives a medal and there will be refreshments available in the Community Centre directly after the race. Get back early for some of the famous post-race cake! \nThere will be prizes for the first\, second and third male and female. The run starts at the Hotel in Leenane\, comes through the village and out the Westport Road\, turning right and around the beautiful townland of Glan\, then back into Leenane to finish in the village at the main car park. The surroundings are breathtaking as the route closely follows the shoreline of Killary Fjord. \nThe event is perfect for adventure racers and road runners who want to hold onto the fitness they have earned during the summer\, and 5 miles a very achievable distance if you are a first-timer. DESCRIPTION:This November\, join the global running event – Run in the Dark – taking over Cork city centre on Wednesday 15th November. Each participant receives a run number\, official time\, flashing armband\, goody bag at the finish line\, and an official race certificate. Prepaid teams of 5 or more get their spaces reserved\, free postage and packing\, and the team leader gets a long-sleeve tech top. \nAs darkness falls around the world\, 25\,000 people in 50 cities around the world will Run in the Dark together to help fast-track a cure for paralysis. Run in the Dark is the main fundraiser of the Mark Pollock Trust\, whose mission is to fast-track a cure for paralysis by creating global collaborations and funding groundbreaking scientific research. This year\, by raising €500\,000\, Run in the Dark will help to fund more global collaborations and multi-subject research trials. Every €30 raised covers one day of clinical research fees. \nWhy Run in the Dark? \nThere is no cure for paralysis or any meaningful therapies for millions of people around the world with spinal cord injury. 7 out of 10 never work again after spinal cord injury and 4 out of 10 live below the poverty line. But the Mark Pollock Trust aims to change this reality by finding and connecting people around the world to fast-track a cure for paralysis. The Mark Pollock Trust’s main fundraiser – the Run in the Dark – plays a vital part in funding this mission. \n€1.50 of transaction fee (all entry fees go directly to the Mark Pollock Trust)

There will be a mega slide bouncy castle\, spiderman castle\, face painting\, puppet show\, kids dash\, egg and spoon race\, sack race\, music and much more.\nRegistration fee: Early bird will run until the end of February.
