SUMMARY:10 Mile Sheep's Head Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. The course follows the Glenlough Loop on the Sheep’s Head Way\, with walkers starting at 9.30am\, followed by the runners at 11.30am. \nThis year all proceeds from the event will go to Muintir Bhaire Sea Scouts and Muintir Bhaire Foroige group. \nIf chip-timing\, a flat course and a finishing medal is your thing\, this is not for you! What it is however is a community based race\, where people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take in the fantastic views the area has to offer. \nThere will be water stations on the course and light refreshments post-race.

DESCRIPTION:The 4th annual Wild Atlantic 10 mile road race takes place this year on Sunday 16th August.  The race will begin in the Belleek area of Ballina town and will take participants on a fantastic route through the picturesque Belleek Woods that runs parallel to the iconic River Moy and along part of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway.  The route is ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance and the timing of our race fits perfectly with those training for the Dublin City Marathon or other autumn marathons. \nBallina Athletic Club has successfully hosted a range of races over the years from 10k to half marathons to marathons so we can guarantee participants a well-run event.  Refreshments will be served after the event … including our legendary cheesecakes! \nEvent details & schedule  \n\nAAI approved and Jones Counter measured.\nRace is chipped and timed.\nRace commences at 11.00 am SHARP on Sunday 16th\nStarting point – Belleek Castle Road.\nFinishing point – Ballina Athletic Club track.\nRace number\, chip & t-shirt collection: Saturday 15th from 5.00 – 6.30 pm & Sunday from 9.00 – 10.30 am SHARP\nLimited number of late registrations may be available on the morning.\nLimited number of virtual entries available with medal.\nWater stations on the route.\nHot showers available after the event.\nRace briefing will be emailed to participants before the event.\nEvery finisher will receive a bespoke medal on the day.\nFirst 200 registered participants will receive a quality technical t-shirt.\n\nPrizes  \n\nCash prizes & trophies for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd male and female.\nCash prize for breaking the course record.\nAge group winners – Male & female 040\, 050 & 060.\nTrophies for first Ballina AC male & female.\n\nWe would like to extend a very warm welcome to all participants entering the Wild Atlantic 10 miler and thank you for entering our race.

DESCRIPTION:Cleasathon 2020 \nCleasathon is a road race that take place yearly on Inis Oirr. Inis Oírr island is situated off the west coast of Ireland in Galway Bay. It is one of the group of islands known as The Aran Islands. It has an ancient history\, a vibrant Irish speaking population\, beautiful scenery and a tranquil pace of life. The island can be accessed\, all year-round\, by plane from Indreabhán\, Conamara\, by ferry from Ros an Mhíl\, Conamara or seasonly from Doolin\, Co. DESCRIPTION:The Laragh Trail Run is a trail run organised by the Parents’ Association of St. Kevin’s National school\, Laragh. The objective of the run is to raise funds annually for the school which from 2013 has housed the area Autism unit and provides quality education to a diverse student body. The event is a celebration of the beautiful environment of the Wicklow uplands and promotes Laragh as a mountain village ideal for healthy and active lifestyles. The event brings together the community and the walkers\, runners and visitors who spend time in this scenic part of County Wicklow. DESCRIPTION:The Muckers option is 1 lap of approx 5.5km and typically takes between 28 and 100 minutes to complete and in March 2020 will have over 50 obstacles per lap! \nThe Serious Muckers option is 2 laps (approx 11km) of the course and should take between 60 and 200 minutes to complete\nEach lap will take in many different obstacles and challenges. These will include various bale “jumps”\, climbs and crawls under and over nets\, super slides including into Cooolcarrigan lake\, pontoon bridges\, tyres\, various ditch and rope hauls and other water and land challenges! \nOur obstacles are designed to be “doable” by almost everyone but if you are not comfortable to do any obstacle then you will not be obliged to do so. \nWe are continually making improvements so expect some great fun with more new obstacles at our next event in March 2020! \n \nWatch the event video HERE \n \n★★★★★ \n“Just back to Cork after completing my first ever runamuck . DESCRIPTION:WHERE: GALWAY WIND PARK\, SHANAPHEASTEEN ROAD\, OUGHTERARD\, CO. GALWAY\n(6KM SOUTH-WEST OF OUGHTERARD)\nJoin us for a unique opportunity to take a 9k or 17km night walk along the forest tracks and walking paths through the Galway Windpark under the light of a full moon. Organised with support from Coillte and SSE Ireland\, proceeds from this event will be used to support Galway Mountain Rescue teams long term objective of constructing a dedicated mountain rescue base. \nThe full route is 17.1km long with an altitude gain of 384m. The shorter option (the northern half of the full Fig-8 route) is 9km with an altitude gain of 185m. \nParticipants will be briefed on the walk and will be given a copy of the Walk Route Map. Participants can opt to walk with one of the organised groups which will each be led by a member of Galway MRT or they can choose to follow the route independently with their own friends/family. DESCRIPTION:This multi-disciplinary event involves Cycling\, Running\, (or walking) and Kayaking. As multi-sport events go\, this is well suited to anybody with a reasonable level of fitness. The entire course is on well marked roads and forestry tracks so getting lost will not be an issue. The start and finish of the challenge is at the GAA Hall at the GAA field in the village of Newcastle\, not too far from the towns of Clonmel and Cahir\, Co. Tipperary.
