SUMMARY:Forth Mountain Trail Run 2022
DESCRIPTION:Forth Mountain Trail Run is a charity run\, in aid of Barntown National School\,  over 13 kilometres of the Three Rocks Trail on Forth Mountain\, just outside Wexford Town. \nThe terrain is made of road\, well maintained gravel trail and short sections of forestry road. \nA family orientated walking event will also be held on the day. \nThis is undoubtedly the most scenic race in the south-east. To the north you can see the entirety of north Wexford\, the Blackstairs Mountains\, as far as Lugnaquilla in the Wicklow Mountains. To the south you can view the Saltee Islands\, Hook Lighthouse\, Rosslare Harbour\, Kilmore Quay and Tuskar Rock Lighthouse. \nCost:\nThe cost of the event is €20 for runners and €10 euro per walker. Family tickets for walkers will cost €25 euro. Register Now CLICK HERE\n \n\n \nRoute:\nBeginning at Barntown School\, the race takes you up to the 1798 Battle Site Carpark\, here runners transition to trail running and meet a steep 400m hill. This is most of the hard work done after two kilometers. Next you pass by the quarry carpark (5k walkers can loop the quarry and head back for school)\, another kilometre on the road and you hit the trail again. This section leads you past Drooping Rock where the views of North Wexford are amazing. 8k Walkers can head back to the finish after here.You will reach Pennylands Car​ Park next and pass the second Water Station. DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED \nWas Re-Scheduled for 4th October 2020. \nPortumna GAA Club are once again hosting 5km and 10km trail races around the beautiful Portumna Forest Park at 12 noon on Sunday 4th October.  This is our third year and with 200+ runners last year we are going strong! \nThe 5k is on forest roads/trails and will accommodate dedicated runners but is also suitable for walkers/families/buggies.  The 10k will take you deep into the forest and is a proper 10k race on mainly single-track trails between the trees\, broken up by stretches of forest road ideal for passing. \nThe races will be on separate circuits around the forest\, both well signed and marshalled. Km markers and water will be in place around the courses. Free tea/coffee for all runners/walkers at the pitch after the races. \nBoth races start at 12pm sharp from Portumna GAA Club.  \nRegistration online here or in the GAA club from 11am.  Online registrations will close on Saturday 3rd at 8pm.  A draw will take place for a free entry for one online entrant. The races will again be followed by a BBQ and family fun-day. Prize giving at 1.30pm.\n \nAdult entry €10 (enter here). Kids (under 16) €5\, family €20. SUMMARY:10 Mile Sheep's Head Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. The course follows the Glenlough Loop on the Sheep’s Head Way\, with walkers starting at 9.30am\, followed by the runners at 11.30am. \nThis year all proceeds from the event will go to Muintir Bhaire Sea Scouts and Muintir Bhaire Foroige group. \nIf chip-timing\, a flat course and a finishing medal is your thing\, this is not for you! What it is however is a community based race\, where people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take in the fantastic views the area has to offer. \nThere will be water stations on the course and light refreshments post-race.

DESCRIPTION:The 4th annual Wild Atlantic 10 mile road race takes place this year on Sunday 16th August.  The race will begin in the Belleek area of Ballina town and will take participants on a fantastic route through the picturesque Belleek Woods that runs parallel to the iconic River Moy and along part of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway.  The route is ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance and the timing of our race fits perfectly with those training for the Dublin City Marathon or other autumn marathons. \nBallina Athletic Club has successfully hosted a range of races over the years from 10k to half marathons to marathons so we can guarantee participants a well-run event.  Refreshments will be served after the event … including our legendary cheesecakes! \nEvent details & schedule  \n\nAAI approved and Jones Counter measured.\nRace is chipped and timed.\nRace commences at 11.00 am SHARP on Sunday 16th\nStarting point – Belleek Castle Road.\nFinishing point – Ballina Athletic Club track.\nRace number\, chip & t-shirt collection: Saturday 15th from 5.00 – 6.30 pm & Sunday from 9.00 – 10.30 am SHARP\nLimited number of late registrations may be available on the morning.\nLimited number of virtual entries available with medal.\nWater stations on the route.\nHot showers available after the event.\nRace briefing will be emailed to participants before the event.\nEvery finisher will receive a bespoke medal on the day.\nFirst 200 registered participants will receive a quality technical t-shirt.\n\nPrizes  \n\nCash prizes & trophies for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd male and female.\nCash prize for breaking the course record.\nAge group winners – Male & female 040\, 050 & 060.\nTrophies for first Ballina AC male & female.\n\nWe would like to extend a very warm welcome to all participants entering the Wild Atlantic 10 miler and thank you for entering our race.

DESCRIPTION:The Muckers option is 1 lap of approx 5.5km and typically takes between 28 and 100 minutes to complete and in March 2020 will have over 50 obstacles per lap! \nThe Serious Muckers option is 2 laps (approx 11km) of the course and should take between 60 and 200 minutes to complete\nEach lap will take in many different obstacles and challenges. With great views\, a top route and technical varied trails\, what’s not to love. It’s a fantastic route around this iconic mountain. \nThis is a great race to start your New Year race calendar!! \nThis race normally sells out so we may not have availability on the morning of the race. \nOur route is full marked and very easy to follow. The race is timed and there are prizes for 1st/2nd male and female. \nTrail shoes and rain jacket are essential.
