DESCRIPTION:RUN FOR YOUR LIVES AT THE JUNGLE NI! \nIreland’s original Zombie Run at The Jungle\, challenges participants to complete a daring 6K obstacle trail run while being chased by blood-thirsty\, running Zombies. \nThe Zombie Run returns this year and will take place on Saturday 6th October and Sunday 7th October 2018 \nThis year’s course will be a challenging 6K obstacle run\, complete with various ‘infected zones’ where you will be faced with the task of evading our life stealing zombies. It will also have a disorientating Cornfield Maze to find your way through and lots of painstaking obstacles to conquer such as the exhilarating Giant Water Slide\, the slippery Slip N Slide and many more. As usual\, we will have few other spooky surprises to make it a little more daunting. \nOn the Sunday we have the kids Zombie Run with a 2km and 6km zombie chasing course. \nIt’s an obstacle run with a fiendish Halloween twist – think Rampage meets The Walking Dead! \nEach runner starts with THREE lives (represented by flags worn about the waist) but\, in addition to the running\, the overcoming of obstacles and the manoeuvering through mud\, runners also face ZOMBIES who will give chase in attempt to steal one of their three lives. \nThe runner’s objective is to make it to the finish line with as many lives as possible intact. \nThe Zombie’s objective\, however\, is to steal your lives\, so when you hear gun shot be prepared to run\, for you only have three lives and the monstrous\, prowling zombies are a determined bunch!

SUMMARY:Portumna Forest Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Portumna is a small town in the heart of rural Galway on the West Coast of Ireland. The name Portumna comes from the Irish word Port Omna\, meaning the landing place of the oak tree. So not surprisingly\, perched on the edge of the quaint little town is a magnificent 450 hectacres of coniferous woodland of Scots Pine and Norway spruce. Portumna Forest Park is also home to a whole host of animals including Fallow deer and the red Squirrel. Every June\, the agility of the wild animals in their natural habitat is mimicked by the ‘best of the best’ of distance runners from all over Ireland. In recent years participants have come from all over the world in their quest to find the ultimate Ultra marathon. \nTaking part in the Portumna Forest Marathon is a spiritual experience – while it tests the body physically it soothes the mind in equal proportions. The runners\, crew and marshalls blend in with the environment and although there is plenty of clapping and encouragement for the runners there is a serenity about the place that bows down to the beauty of the natural environment. Everyone talks a little softer and smiles a little wider. When those inevitable Irish rain showers put in their short but frequent appearances\, everyone looks up at the rain drops through the leaves and marvels at the reflections of the rainbows in the puddles – appreciating the fact that the rain had a vital role to play in providing such a luscious backdrop for the run. \nThere is of course a more practical reason that this Marathon remains one of the most popular ultra events in the country – Portumna\, whilst rural\, is also very accessible from all four corners of the country. \nBy the time nightfall descends on a summer Saturday night\, over 1\,000 competitors would have completed one of the five races on offer -100km\, 50km\, Full Marathon\, Half Marathon or 10k. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again\, for our annual Rosslare Harbour Coastal Run/Walk in aid of Rosslare Lifeboat.\nThis year we have two options. \nOption 1: Rosslare Hbr to St Helens and back 5k.\nOption 2: Rosslare Hbr to Carne and back 16k. \nRun\, jog or walk this beautiful stretch of beach with family and friends while supporting a great cause.\nAdults are €10. Teenagers €5 and kids are free. Registration on the day.  Start time 10.00am \nThis will be a timed event to record your personal best\nSo why not challenge yourself on the day by completing the 16k or as far as you can. The event will be subject to weather conditions.
