DESCRIPTION:Ballinrobe Duathlon February 9th \nNow in its 10th year this Duathlon has attracted huge numbers the last few years and is perfect as an early season Goal\, the flat fast course is suitable to all abilities and many people use it as a benchmark to test their form.\nThis event is also a round of the Ireland West Duathlon series \nWith a Start at the top Bridge St\, participants have a lovely fast downhill then turning right for a pan flat 5k route around Clongowla before returning to Transition at Abbey st.\nThe 18k cycle is a triangle shape loop that is flat and if not too windy can be very fast.\nThe final 3.5k run is a little bit technical as the Bowers walk has to be negotiated before finishing at Abbey St.\nPrizes for the top 3 overall and the usual age category prizes\, there are always plenty of spot prizes up for grabs so make sure to attend the prize giving.\nMarrey bikes Ballinrobe are sponsoring the event\, sign on and prize presentation will take place at their premises.

We even have pacers to help you get your PB – every 5 minutes from 45 minutes to 70 minutes catered for. \nHeld in the scenic surroundings of Rosslare Strand\, the Rosslare 10K is a two loop race on a fast course. SUMMARY:The Kennedy Challenge
DESCRIPTION:This is the second year of this event which received really positive feedback last year. This event is run by a local GAA club. Moneys raised are being put towards developing a track around the pitches at the club which will be available all year for walkers/runners.    \nBoth routes on The Kennedy Challenge follow wonderfully scenic courses. The run starts at Horeswood GAA pitch. From the pitch  you turn right and run towards Whitechurch village where the 6k route will be directed left and run back to the pitch . The 12k route takes you straight at Whitechurch village  turning toward Dunganstown where you will run through the JFK Kennedy homestead\, the ancestral home of John F Kennedy American President (The first water station is here also). After this you will continue though the countryside re-joining the 6 k route ( and another water station) and back to the pitch.   \nMarshals will direct you at each point and we have kilometre markers. To be honest the  route is undulating! There are some hills but we hope that the our scenery will help! Based on very positive feedback from our walkers last year this year we are actively encouraging 12k walkers and to ‘Hike to the Homestead’ on the day as well.   \nA 4k under 16 run also takes place on the day. For this event we are escorting  the U16 entrants to a alternate start point in Whitechurch and letting then run from there. Alternatively Under 16 s are welcome to walk the 6k course.  \nWe have staggered start times so that we will finish more or less at the same time so that everyone gets the great atmosphere at the end of the race. We will have refreshments at the finish as well as prizegiving.  Prizes for 1st and 2nd male and female in all races with cash prizes for 1st and 2nd in the 12k . The 10 Mile runners will receive a custom made medal and a custom buff whilst the 5 mile runners will just receive the medal. \nUp to 22nd June entry fees are: 10 mile race €20; 5 mile Race €15\, thereafter on race day entries are 10 mile €25 and 5 Mile €20. \nThe event will attract everyone from the country’s top athletes to the club and fun runners. There are pacers for the 10 miles at 60 mins\, 70 mins\, 80 mins and 90 mins to help participants achieve their goals.\nThere will be prizes (more details later) in the open races and and all veteran categories. All runners receive a special Finisher’s Medal and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the Riverside Park Hotel. \nThe races start and finish on the banks of the River Slaney in the historic town of Enniscorthy. DESCRIPTION:Dunderry national school in Meath are holding their annual 5km and 10km road race fundraiser on Sunday the 15th of September at 12pm. The race is a fundraiser for the school but also run in memory of former pupil Alan Cosgrove. This will be the second year the event has run and will follow on from the hugely enjoyable day had last year. \nAn extremely flat course gives rise to the opportunity of a 5km or 10km PB for those  looking to push themselves but fun run/walk entrants are very welcome. \nRegistration is available through www.popupraces.ie or on the day at Dunderry school from 10. Race start time is 12pm and family friendly prizes will be awarded to fastest runners on the day.

SUMMARY:Spirit Sandyford 5k
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Spirit Sandyford 5k takes place on Thursday September 26th.  The race\, which is now in its fifth year\, will be held on the roads of the Sandyford Business District area\, and is hosted by Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club in association with the Sandyford Business District.  Over 750 runners\, joggers and walkers will take part in the race\, which continues to grow in popularity since it began in 2015. \nTeams of four are invited to enter the race\, and all team runners start together\, with team scores determined by the total time of all members of the team.  Teams will compete to win an array of prizes\, ranging from cash prizes to vouchers provided by Total Physio and the Beacon Hotel.  The race starts and ends on Three Rock Road in the heart of the Sandyford Business District.  Participants will meet up after the race at the Race HQ at Spirit Volvo on Birch Avenue\, where they will be able enjoy refreshments from Freshii\, as well as receiving their race bags featuring a range of goodies from sponsors.
