SUMMARY:Abbey 8km Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Abbey 8Km Road Race takes place around the Village of Abbey\, Loughrea. It will be chip timed again this year and all race entrants will get the Abbey 8KM Tech T Shirt. Last year we changed the route to a flatter 8Km course and it proved a great success. The race this year will be on the same Route\, starting and finishing in the Village\, close to the Community Centre. Registration will take place in the Community Centre on morning of the race from 10am to 11.30am. There are toilets and a bag drop in the Community Centre. Parking is very close by. All funds raised to the up keep of the Community and the Abbey Scouts.

SUMMARY:Strawberry 5 Mile Road Race
DESCRIPTION:This is the inaugural year of the event which comprises a new 10 mile and a 5 mile road race. The race takes place at the height of the Strawberry Season. \nThe race is hosted this year exclusively by Slaney Olympic AC as a club fundraiser. \nEntry fees have been kept to a minimum while still retaining the usual high standards of the race. The 10 Mile runners will receive a custom made medal and a custom buff whilest the 5 mile runners will receive a medal. \nUp to 22nd June entry fees are: 10 mile race €20; 5 mile Race €15\, thereafter on race day entries are 10 mile €25 and 5 Mile €20. \nThe event will attract everyone from the country’s top athletes to the club and fun runners. There are pacers for the 10 miles at 60 mins\, 70 mins\, 80 mins and 90 mins to help participants achieve their goals.\nThere will be prizes (more details later) in the open races and and all veteran categories. All runners receive a special Finisher’s Medal and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the Riverside Park Hotel. \nThe races start and finish on the banks of the River Slaney in the historic town of Enniscorthy. The 10 Mile route runs along the river\, through the town and past the castle before heading out on tree lined roads through the pastoral County Wexford countryside in all its summer glory. All water stations supply 250ml bottles. \nThe event is renowned for its festive and friendly atmosphere with music and race commentary and a start /finish area which is second to none. \nEvent details and schedule\nStart Time: 10am for 10 Mile and 10.30 for 5 mile race

DESCRIPTION:The Frank Kelly Run 2017 is a 5K road-race that takes place on July 15th at 12 noon in Corballa\, Co Sligo . The course starts and finishes at Castleconnor Community Centre. \nThe race is AAI certified. \nThe race starts promptly at 12 noon at Castleconnor Community Centre. Race number pickup is in the Community Hall located right by the start line between 10:15 and 11.45 on the morning of the race. Entries cost €10 and €5 for juveniles. However the race is limited to 200 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir race medal\, Refreshments will be served after . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male and Female Senior \, O30\, O40\, O50\nThere will be teas\, coffees and snacks available for all participants in Castleconnor Hall after the race . Presentation of prizes will take place at 1:15 pm. \nPlease note that there will be changing facilities & showers available. Roads will not be closed for the event\, however there will be either marshals or Guards at all junctions.

DESCRIPTION:Follow us on Facebook – Click Here\n50k Road Race\n\n\nEvent Information\nThe 50k is being introduced this year to the Kerry Ultra for the first time. \nStarting in Upper Rock Street\, Tralee at 10am on August 25 2018 participants will travel on foot through a number of the small towns and villages in North Kerry as they traverse along the Wild Atlantic Way. \nRunners will embark from Tralee and travel to Ardfert via a local roads and paths before the 50k event course merges with the 100k route. As participants arrive at the infamous Barrow Hill for the dogleg section where a turnaround takes place outside the gates of the Tralee Golf Club\, here participants may catch their breath\, taking in the views of Barrow Bay before descending Barrow and arriving at a cunning little drag up to Churchill\, turning right at the graveyard the route travels a quiet local road which brings runners to the historic Fenit. \nThrough the village and out along the pier\, the iconic Fenit Lighthouse on your righthand side\, turning at the steps to the monument to St Brendan the navigator\, participants are now entering the final leg of the event. Back through the village along the main Tralee to Fenit road\, the route travels along the coast of Tralee Bay. The sails of Blennerville Windmill will become visable in the distance as runners pass the Oyster Tavern Bar and Tralee Cricket club before they turn off the main road and head into the Kerries. \nA few last minute drags here will test ones reserve after you pass the Tralee Driving Range and meet the ever famous (Tralee’s version of heartbreak hill) Kerries Hill. On this hill keep an eye on the roof of a big green shed\, this is Dillions Waste Recycling and marks the top of the hill. \nFrom here you descend the hill and arrive in the outskirts of Tralee town. Passing the Government Building on your right\, the course takes a righthand turn and heads for the historic Blennerville village with its windmill standing proud to greet you\, this was the point of departure for many during the Great Famine and the sight where the famine ship the Jennie Johnston was rebuilt during the late 1990’s. \nPassing through Blennerville\, runners will take a lefthand turn up bringing them past St Pats GAA field. Staying on this local road runners will ascend their final but gentle drag before taking a left hand turn at the foot of the Shortmountain (a road that travels up and over the Slieve Mish mountains). This road will bring runners out onto a local road next to LIDL supermarker\, following the signs runners are now just over a mile from home as the travel up the River Lee Walkway\, reaching the Aqua Dome\, participants will take a right at the roundabout 300 meters before they cross the Finishline on Niall Armstrong Way. \nParticipants can enter the event here. \nRace Rules:\n\nAll participants shall obey the rules of the road at all times. The race is located in Ballina Town\, commencing at 11.00 am. \nFollowing on from the success of last years inaugural event we guarantee all participants a fantastic race day\, with a fantastic route taking in some magnificent views of the Wild Atlantic Way\, The route is picturesque and ideal for runners and walkers new to the 10 mile distance and those wishing to simply enjoy a scenic race! Our race distance\, course and timing also fits nicely with marathon training. Tec T-Shirts for all adults\, Refreshments served immediately afterwards in Cuisle\, ample parking on the grounds of Cuisle.\nAll Proceeds go towards the refurbishment of Cuisle Respite Centre\, Cuisle is Ireland’s leading wheelchair accessible resort\, Irish Wheelchair Association’s national holiday centre. we appreciate your support. DESCRIPTION:Kilkenny provides the historic backdrop for Ireland’s 3rd Medieval Marathon. \nOn September\, the 15th 2018\, participants will set off from the Parade at 1 pm. The route will take in some of the most historic sites in the city before winding out the country roads\, making its way back to Kilkenny to finish on The Parade in the heart of the city.

SUMMARY:85th Anniversary Kilmore AC 'Saltees Fish' 10k
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again folks. Registration is now open for our annual Kilmore AC ‘Saltees Fish’ 10k Road Race. This year the main event itself will be preceeded by a 2 mile fun run for those aged 14 and up. As we celebrate our 85th anniversary we believe this years 10k will be extra special and we hope you can join us on the 15th of September for an excellent race followed by great refreshments and prize giving. SUMMARY:Rosemount Half Marathon And 10KM
DESCRIPTION:Located in the heart of the midlands\, Rosemount is a little village near Moate in Co. Westmeath. This year the club will host their first ever half marathon and 10KM event. The race is registered with the AAI and incorporates the famous Athlone to Mullingar greenway. \nThere is an event t-shirt and medal for every participant as well as some great sponsors who will be involved on the day. There will be pacers for a number of predetermined times and the organising committee have advised the route is excellent for anyone taking on the Dublin city marathon two weeks later.
