This year’s event is capped at 700 participants with 150 of these places for the 5k event. This year we are timing our 5k event and yes you will all receive a custom made medal.

SUMMARY:Abbey 8km Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Abbey 8Km Road Race takes place around the Village of Abbey\, Loughrea. It will be chip timed again this year and all race entrants will get the Abbey 8KM Tech T Shirt. Last year we changed the route to a flatter 8Km course and it proved a great success. The race this year will be on the same Route\, starting and finishing in the Village\, close to the Community Centre. Registration will take place in the Community Centre on morning of the race from 10am to 11.30am. There are toilets and a bag drop in the Community Centre. Parking is very close by. All funds raised to the up keep of the Community and the Abbey Scouts.

DESCRIPTION:Born to Run Tralee Marathon Club are proud and excited to bring you the fourth annual Born to Run 40 Mile Ultra Marathon and second 2 person relay while introducing the first running of our 4 person relay. Taking place on Saturday July 28th in the town of Tralee\, this 40 Mile Ultra-marathon consists of ten 4 mile loops.  The course is made up of a relaxing (and flat) 1 mile river walkway (concrete) and country roads (not quiet flat in places). Each loop has two hills of approximately 0.5 miles each and have a climb of about 90 feet each. These hills are immediately followed by an equal downhill section which will be a welcome relief after the climb.

DESCRIPTION:This is the sixth running of this popular race. The race is usually run in early January each year. Everyone is suited to this race from the fastest\, nippiest racer to Mam or Dad (or Grandma/da) pushing a stroller. The course is like the people around the race\, friendly. The flat roads make for a good time being recorded whatever level of runner or walker you are. The Facility at Wexford FC is second to none and ideal for the after race freshen up and upstairs then for the chat and bite!!!

DESCRIPTION:2017 will be the 8th Fat Turkey Run. All participants are required to enter online. The event last year sold out\, so please don’t leave it too late.\nThe Fat Turkey 10km event supports developing rugby in Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924)\, with a donation going towards the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives and help to restore their confidence and independence).\nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintan’s Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route.\nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip\, T-shirt and goodie bags can be collected from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available.\nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety/event briefing. Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintan’s Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11am sharp.\nOn completion of the race\, participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and complimentary tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. Prize giving will take place at the club.\nThere will also be a host of family activities at the club with live music\, hot food and full bar facilities etc.\nCost €23 + Reg Fee.
