SUMMARY:Race2Glory Kiltimagh
DESCRIPTION:Top prize for first place is €150 cash. Excellent quality long sleeve top for all competitors. \nTwo options: \nFull Race is a total of 40km. This begins with a 10km mountain run up Spankers Hill\, across by the windmills\, through some muddy bog\, back down the mountain and back to starting point for transition. Next up is a 23km cycle with a steep incline up Craggagh hill\, across the mountain and on to transition 2 where you will drop your bike and take on the final 7km run (100m through the river glore) back into the town of Kiltimagh. The wonderful community of Kiltimagh will get you through this tough course. There will be a nice BBQ waiting for you at the finish line aswell as ice baths and massages. There is also a relay option available for the full course if you don’t feel up to the complete challenge. \nOption 2 is a 20km Sprint Race. This begins with a nice flat 3km run bringing you right back to the start for transition. Next up is a 10km cycle with some hills along the route. Finally you will take on a 7km run to the finish line. This is the same run as the full race with 100m through the river glore. Both routes have some surprising obstacles along the way.

DESCRIPTION:Tackle West Cork’s terrain this August at the Bantry Bay Adventure Race\nThe event\, on Saturday 25th August 2018\, begins with a 5k run on Whiddy Island. Then you’ll kayak back across Bantry (1500m approx.)\, and cycle out onto the Sheep’s Head peninsula (22.8k approx.) before returning to a hero’s welcome in the bustling harbour town of Bantry. \nTest yourself against West Cork’s landscapes and this world-famous bay as an individual participant\, or join with friends to form a relay team. This is an exciting challenge for anyone who wants to get active on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The double kayak section of the course means that this is a test of teamwork as well as of individual ability. \nThe Adventure Race makes the most of the Bantry Bay Blueway route and the Sheep’s Head’s walking and cycling trails. BBAR 2018 is an amazing opportunity for you to experience some of the most scenic places in West Cork. It will also have a disorientating Cornfield Maze to find your way through and lots of painstaking obstacles to conquer such as the exhilarating Giant Water Slide\, the slippery Slip N Slide and many more. As usual\, we will have few other spooky surprises to make it a little more daunting. \nOn the Sunday we have the kids Zombie Run with a 2km and 6km zombie chasing course. \nIt’s an obstacle run with a fiendish Halloween twist – think Rampage meets The Walking Dead! \nEach runner starts with THREE lives (represented by flags worn about the waist) but\, in addition to the running\, the overcoming of obstacles and the manoeuvering through mud\, runners also face ZOMBIES who will give chase in attempt to steal one of their three lives. \nThe runner’s objective is to make it to the finish line with as many lives as possible intact. \nThe Zombie’s objective\, however\, is to steal your lives\, so when you hear gun shot be prepared to run\, for you only have three lives and the monstrous\, prowling zombies are a determined bunch!

DESCRIPTION:Ox Mountain Challenge Run 2018 \n  \nThe 2nd Annual Ox Mountain Challenge is a10 mile Road Race / Mountain Run with a half way split. It is a Community Run that will take place on Saturday October 6th at 1.00 p.m.  \n  \nSkreen / Dromard Community Centre will be the base for the Run where registration\, briefing\, parking and changing facilities will be available .The Community Centre is located on the main Sligo- Ballina Road (N59) approx. 6 miles from Ballisadare. Runners can pick up their Race Tags etc on Friday 6th from 7pm – 10pm & and on the morning of the run from 10am – 12am.  Late registration will be available during both time slots. \nTo accommodate fitness of all levels a team relay of 4 X 2.5 mile race will be available along with a 4 mile run / walk .This run will be a smaller loop of the 10 mile run but will have the same start and finish. As this is a new run on the athletic Club Calendar early entry is advisable. Online registration is through Core Timing and will close one week before race day. Different Category prizes to be won on the day\, full details to be published later.  \n

DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThe tough course of 25+ obstacles covers a 2.5km stretch and\, believe us\, it will test your endurance! \nAid Stations:\nWe will have fully trained medics on the day \nSpectators:\nSpectators are free and will be able to walk along the sidelines of most of the course to cheer on and to take pictures of their kids. \nParking:\nCarpooling is definitely recommended but there will be ample parking on the day. Parking included in registration fee. \nOther:\nWe ask that you do not bring your pets on the day for health and safety reasons.\nBring black bags\, baby wipes/ sponge/ water – there will be washed down facilities available but the items listed are good to have on hand.\nBring warm loose-fitting clothing that you can change into easily afterwards.\nThere will be a valuable drop off for car keys etc but we advise to bring minimal belongings with you. \nTeam:\nTeams are encouraged to enter as we believe its a lot more fun running around and getting muddy with your friends. There is no limit to how many people are on a team all we ask is that you come up with a cool team name and that all the children are in the same age category. SUMMARY:Up and Over Challenge\, Lahardane\, Co.Mayo
DESCRIPTION:The course begins with a 3.5km climb from Lahardane village to the foot of Nephin mountain\, an ascent from Carrowskeheen and descent down by Cloughbrack followed by a 6.5km road run back to the village. Nephin mountain at 806M is even higher than Croagh Patrick. The views from the summit are breathtaking and encompass Clew bay to the West and Lough Conn and Lough Cullen to the East. \nRegister here \nRefreshments and prize giving will be in Murphys Pub.
