DESCRIPTION:The annual Run for Mary 5km Run/Jog/Walk is taking place in Peterswell Galway on Nov 12thth 2022. \nThis event has been organised in memory of our dear friend Mary Prendergast who passed away on 2nd January 2014 aged 42 years. Mary was a member of our local South Galway Athletics club and ran the Dublin City Marathon with us in 2004. \nMary and Paddy got married in 2004 and were blessed to have three children Carlyn\, Roslyn and Zach. Baby Zach passed away when he was only one week old on June 4th 2012. Mary was diagnosed with cancer 5 months after the loss of baby Zach. Her courage and dignity during her battle with breast cancer was inspiring to all who knew her. \nAll proceeds from this fundraising event will go to two charities. SUMMARY:Resolution Run Galway 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Resolution Run 2023 is a fast and flat 5K road race that takes place New Years Day 1st January 2022\, at 10.30  in Galway City Centre. The course routes through the City Centre\, from the Claddagh\, passing Wolfe Tone Bridge \, Merchants Road and the Docks\, and routing back out to Grattan Road and the Prom before a fast finish along South park into the finish at Nimmos Pier. The route passes most of the city’s famous landmarks along the way. The race is AAI certified and there is a superb souvenir gift for all entrants\, Race HQ is Claddagh Hall at South Park\, Galway and race start is beside the park. \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course\nPlease note that there will be no changing facilities or showers available. Roads will not be closed for the event\,however there will be either marshals or Guards at all junctions to ensure your safety!. \nPlease note prior to entry  that Over 16s only can enter and that the course will be marshalled for 50 minutes\,and that these entry conditions are necessary for safety and logistics reasons . \n  \nFacebook Page CLICK HERE

DESCRIPTION:FASN 5K & Family Fun Run\, Dundalk \nThe Family Addiction Support Network is a non-profit organisation that provides support and education to families living with the effects of a loved one’s addiction. Set up in 2001\, we are based in Dundalk and operate across 4 counties in the Northeast. DESCRIPTION:All revenue raised from this event will go directly to the Maria Goretti Children’s Respite and Rehab Care Adult Services in Dundalk. \n  \nThe 10th annual Fitzers 5K Fun Run and Walk takes place once more on Saturday February 25th at 11am from the Marshes SC\, Dundalk\, Co Louth. This is the tenth renewal of the event that was inaugurated by Deputy Peter Fitzpatrick as a means of helping local organisations providing vital services. \n  \nThe beneficiaries this year will be Maria Goretti Children’s Respite and RehabCare Adult Services. \n  \nThe Maria Goretti Foundation is a registered charity and is committed to the support of children with disabilities. The centre at Lordship\, Co. Louth is currently a purpose built six bed-roomed facility that operates under the auspices of the HSE and is currently managed by Rehab Care. \n  \nThe Maria Goretti Children’s Respite provides residential respite to 80 families who have children with Autism\, Learning Disability\, or a Physical Disability between the ages of 6-18.
