DESCRIPTION:Portumna Forest Park 5k/10k Trail Races \nPortumna GAA Club are hosting 5km and 10km trail races around the beautiful Portumna Forest Park at 12 noon on Sunday 22nd July.  The races will be on separate circuits around the forest.  The courses are flat and will be split between narrow forest trails and forest roads.  Km markers and refreshments will be in place around the courses. \nThese are not your normal 5k and 10k races – these races will be mainly challenging but fast technical running in single-track trails between the trees\, broken up by stretches of forest road ideal for passing. \nBoth races start at 12pm sharp from Portumna GAA Club. \nRegistration in the GAA club from 11am if you are up for the challenge! Online registrations are closed but still plenty of places left. \nAdult entry €10. Kids (under 18) €5 entry. DESCRIPTION:We are organising a 5k/10k Fun Run in Punchestown Racecourse on Sat. July 21st at 11am. All proceeds go to the Michael Mullan Cancer Fund. \nMichael (Mick) is 26 years old from Eadestown Co. Kildare and is battling cancer for the third time. Michael is currently undergoing treatment in Boston as there is no treatment options available for him in Ireland. We have organised this run to raise much needed funds to help cover his medical expenses. DESCRIPTION:The Frank Kelly Run 2017 is a 5K road-race that takes place on July 15th at 12 noon in Corballa\, Co Sligo . The course starts and finishes at Castleconnor Community Centre. \nThe race is AAI certified. \nThe race starts promptly at 12 noon at Castleconnor Community Centre. Race number pickup is in the Community Hall located right by the start line between 10:15 and 11.45 on the morning of the race. Entries cost €10 and €5 for juveniles. However the race is limited to 200 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir race medal\, Refreshments will be served after . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male and Female Senior \, O30\, O40\, O50\nThere will be teas\, coffees and snacks available for all participants in Castleconnor Hall after the race . Presentation of prizes will take place at 1:15 pm. \nPlease note that there will be changing facilities & showers available. Roads will not be closed for the event\, however there will be either marshals or Guards at all junctions.

DESCRIPTION:Registration Iniscealtra National School Mountshannon\nJuly 7th from 8.30am – 10.30am \nThe 10k Route is a timed run and starts at the Church. The first stretch takes the participant in the direction of the village turning right before the village with a lap of the harbour. In the village the route takes a right turn following the R352 to the Clonolia Junction just over 3.5km outside the village. The route takes a left at the Clonolia Junction followed by another left and then a right onto the Derrycon Route. At the 6km mark the route takes a left turn and it is a straight run back towards the village reaching the village at the 8.75km Mark. The final stage is down the hill around the harbour turning left onto the R352 finishing at the traffic lights at the 10k Mark. \nThe 5.4k Route is a timed run and starts at the church. The first stretch takes the participant in the direction of the village turning right before the village with a lap of the harbour. In the village the route takes a left turn following the R352 to the Woodpark Junction just over 3.5km outside the village. Turning right the route continues through Woodpark Forest Park. At the Woodpark Forest Park exit the route takes a right turn finishing back at the school traffic lights at the 5.4k Mark.

We want to have a fun event that helps to encourage families and people young and old to be active and involved in their community. People walking with or without buggies and small children are encouraged to participate to help make this a fun day for all. SUMMARY:Mayo AC Vodafone Summer 5k Series: Claremorris
DESCRIPTION:The 9th Annual Mayo AC Summer 5k Series is underway. Mayo AC are delighted once again to have their popular series sponsored by Vodafone C&C Cellular who also support the Club League.  \nThe five races in the series take place at different locations on successive Tuesday evenings at 8pm.  \nAll races have Athletics Ireland permits. Athletics Ireland recommend a minimum age of 16 years to complete distances of 5k. \nThe Series is open to all –  fitness groups\, athletics clubs\, all levels are very welcome.   \nThe final race in the 2018 series is \nat Claremorris June 19\, (registration at Athletics Track\, contact John Timothy 087 909 9910\nCourse route:      https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/1038723121 \nThis is final series event and the After Party at Claremorris track will include presentations to the men and women winners of each race.\nIn addition\, there will be a Star Prize raffle on the night.\nAll those who enter the full five race Series will be entered in a draw for this year’s Star Prize\, an overnight stay including dinner at the Twelve Hotel in Barna Co Galway – named Ireland’s Hotel of the Year at the 2018 Georgina Campbell Awards  \nThe Series of races are organised on a ‘no frills’ basis – turn up and run. SUMMARY:Rathlee NS 5 & 10k
DESCRIPTION:The annual Rathlee N.S. Run and Walk takes place this year on Saturday 16th June at 2pm.  Now in its 4th year\, the course has been transformed this year to incorporate a 10km run together with the traditional 5km route.  Taking in some of the most scenic areas of West Sligo\, the run is always popular with both seasoned runners and beginners. \nThe race starts and finishes overlooking Kilalla Bay at the picturesque Browne’s of Pullaheeney.  The 5km route is reasonably flat with relatively few undulations which is ideal for walkers and runners alike.  The new 10km route departs Pullaheeney and moves away from the coast before joining The Wild Atlantic Way and making its way past the National School in Rathlee.  The route then snakes its way through the local countryside passing Rathlee Tower before making its way to the coast and finishing back at Pullaheeney. \nPrizes will be given to 1st\, 2nd and 3rd in both the 5km and 10km runs. \nAll funds raised go directly to improvement works at Rathlee National School.

DESCRIPTION:This is the 5th annual Killeeneen National School 5km road race. There is something for everyone with a 1km fun run for children (Montessori to 6thClass)\, a 2.5km walk or a 5km road race. Prizes for top 3 home in male and female categories and also a prize for the first Killeeneen mother and father home. A lovely flat 2.5km loop that is ideal to achieve a PB! \nThis race is chip-timed and a long sleeved technical t-shirt is available to the first 100 entries. Those who have pre-registered online can collect their race pack in the registration room in the school building on the evening of the race. \nTea/ coffee and refreshments are available in the school after the race. Every year this proves to be a wonderful event. \n€18 online entry or €20 if registering on the night (from 5pm at Killeeneen National School) \nChildren’s race 6.15pm\, Family Walk 6.30pm and 5km Road Race 7pm
