DESCRIPTION:Entry Fee: €25 for both distances\, Children go free \nIf you would prefer to wait until the day to register your participation\, the registration desk will be open from 8am on Sunday\, 30th September 2018 on the corner of Furze Rd and Chesterfield Ave in the Phoenix Park. The race will begin at 10am and follow the Operation Transformation route. \nThere will be no road access between the Phoenix monument and Mount Joy Cross on Chesterfield avenue until after the event\, after which normal access will resume. \nRace Pack: At registration on the morning\, you will receive your race number\, which has your chip timer attached to it\, as well as a Pigsback Tech T-shirt. \nParking : There is parking along Chesterfield Avenue as far as the Phoenix Monument\, however\, we advise that you consider public transport options. \nThere will be limited wheelchair parking spaces on site so if you wish to avail of one of these please contact the office before the day\, you will need to display your disability pass. \nLocker Facilities:  There won’t be lockers available but we will be a bag drop area during the run \nWater Stations:  There will be water stations around the course

The run will take place on Sandymount Promenade and Beach and will start at 7pm. \nThe registration fee for the event is €20 – All of the funding raised for Age Action will be matched in full by Bank of Ireland. This race is open to all over the age of 15. Children under 15 must be accompanied on the route by an adult. \nFundraise: Please go the extra mile and set up a fundraising page in aid of Women’s Aid at by creating your own personal fundraising page on Everyday Hero or using your own Facebook page to create a fundraiser for Women’s Aid. We can also send you sponsorship cards too. \nAsk your friends\, family and workmates to support you as you help raise much needed funds for women and their children experiencing domestic violence. \nOne in five women in Ireland will be affected by physical\, emotional\, financial and sexual abuse by their husbands\, partners and boyfriends. Help us listen\, believe and support women when they need us the most. \nAll proceeds raised will support the Women’s Aid 24hr National Freephone Helpline 1800 341 900 and our other one to one support services – thank you. \nRoute description and map: \nThe 5K event starts in Sean Moore Park just outside Clanna Gael Fontenoy GAA clubhouse (where registration takes place). The route follows the perimeter of the park around in an anti-clockwise direction on the tarmac park path. \nJust before 1km the route leaves the park and hits the beach. The route follows the beach before ascending Sandymount promenade. It follows the promenade to the end before descending again to the beach just 100m short of the turn point. \nThe route rounds the turn and heads for home following the beach all the way back to the Sean Moore park. Upon re-entering the park\, it’s a right turn clockwise for the last couple of hundred metres and the welcome sight of the finish gantry where the race started. This route will be timed\, marked and marshalled. \nNumber and T-shirt pick up: \n\n5pm to 7.30pm Monday 24th September at Women’s Aid\, 5 Wilton Place\, Dublin 2.\n5pm to 7pm\, Tuesday 25th September at Clanna Gael Fontenoy\, Ringsend\, Dublin 4.\n\nPrizes: While this is very much a fun event raising much needed funds for our work\, we hope to have a number of small prizes as well as raffle prizes. DESCRIPTION:Taking place close to Butlersbridge\, Co Cavan\, the event is organised by Derryheen Parish Church in aid of its Restoration Fund and St Christopher’s Hospice\, Cavan. The event is now in its 5th year. \nNEW:  20K event starting at 11AM.  Suitable for those training for marathon.\n10K and 5K starting at 12 noon\, suitable for walkers and runners.  Registration from 10.45AM. \nThere are 2 substantial hills in the 10k event in the final 5k. The 1st 5k is flat.  There are 3 water stations on the 10K route at 3\, 5.9 and 7.4KM.  There are 1 KM markers so contestants can keep track of their progress.  Entry fees are €10 per adult and €20 per family.  There is a clock at the finish line. \nThere is beautiful countryside on quiet roads on a loop of Lough Inchin on the boundaries of Farnham Estate. The event begins and ends at Derryheen Church. \nRegistration is at the event from 10.45AM. \nThere are prizes for 1st man and 1st woman and 1st U16 boy and 1st U16 girl in the 10K.  There are prizes for the 1st man and woman in the 5K.   \nThe event is specially renowned for its refreshments afterwards.

SUMMARY:Little Luna 5k
DESCRIPTION:On the 13th of  February 2018\, our beautiful little girl Luna stopped breathing and required immediate CPR to keep her heart pumping and oxygen to her brain.  The emergency services were outstanding on this day\, providing exceptional care for our daughter.  When transferred to Temple Street Hospital\, many of the medical team from Sligo General Neonatal travelled with Luna to Dublin  to ensure she would not be at risk during the journey.  When we arrived in Temple Street Hospital the medics were outstanding. However we found ourselves in Dublin City with no place to stay. We were offered a helping hand by the founders of Hugh’s House. This house provided us with accommodation and somewhere to stay for the duration of Luna’s stay in hospital.  Following a week or so in Temple Street\, Luna had decompression surgery on her Foramen Magnum. The support we received from the hospital\, medics and The Little People Ireland community was nothing short of amazing.  Thankfully\, Luna has made a full recovery.  We feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with such amazing people on what was our darkest days.  As a token of our appreciation\, we will be holding a 5k run event on Sunday 2nd September  to fundraise and give back to the key organisations & foundations that helped us during this time. These include; Sligo General Neonatal\, Little People Ireland and Hugh’s House.  All of these organisations need a lot of funding but they depend greatly on voluntary contributions.

DESCRIPTION:The Frank Kelly Run 2017 is a 5K road-race that takes place on July 15th at 12 noon in Corballa\, Co Sligo . The course starts and finishes at Castleconnor Community Centre. \nThe race is AAI certified. \nThe race starts promptly at 12 noon at Castleconnor Community Centre. Race number pickup is in the Community Hall located right by the start line between 10:15 and 11.45 on the morning of the race. Entries cost €10 and €5 for juveniles. However the race is limited to 200 entries. All entrants will receive a souvenir race medal\, Refreshments will be served after . \nThe race is AAI certified and has been officially measured . \nThe route is suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities. It is a very flat and fast course Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male and Female Senior \, O30\, O40\, O50\nThere will be teas\, coffees and snacks available for all participants in Castleconnor Hall after the race . DESCRIPTION:The 7th Annual Sea 2 Sky race in Newcastle\, Co. Down offers a 10K Race/Walk and 5K Race. The race boasts an awesome route starting on the promenade in Newcastle (5K starts in Donard Forest) and includes a mix of road and track before heading up through the foothills of the Mournes. In the first half you will move off-road onto trails that climb gradually to the 5K mark where you will be rewarded by stunning views over Newcastle and beyond before descending to finish on Newcastle’s award winning promenade. (Only 40 minutes drive from Newry).
