DESCRIPTION:  \nOn Saturday 9th November 2019 at 10am \nVenue: Peterswell Village\, Co Galway \nThis is our 6th year running this event which has been organised in memory of our dear friend Mary Prendergast who passed away on 2nd January 2014 aged 42 years. Mary was a member of our local South Galway Athletics club and ran the Dublin City Marathon with us in 2004. Mary and Paddy got married in 2004 and were blessed to have three children Carlyn\, Roslyn and Zach. Baby Zach passed away when he was only one week old on June 4th 2012. Mary was diagnosed with cancer five months after loss of her baby Zach. Her courage and dignity during her battle with breast cancer was inspiring to all who knew her. \nAll proceeds from this fundraising event will go to two local charities: Galway Hospice and Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity. Hand in Hand is a non-profit organisation based in Galway since 2006 that supports families who are affected by childhood cancer throughout Ireland. Their aim is to alleviate some of the stress\, anxiety and practical difficulties faced by families who have a child undergoing treatment for cancer\, through the provision of practical (laundry\, childcare\, domestic cleaning and family meals) and emotional support. We are welcoming all athletes\, runners\, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities to attend this memorial event. \nRegistration for the event can be done on Run Ireland. SUMMARY:Spirit Sandyford 5k
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Spirit Sandyford 5k takes place on Thursday September 26th.  The race\, which is now in its fifth year\, will be held on the roads of the Sandyford Business District area\, and is hosted by Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club in association with the Sandyford Business District.  Over 750 runners\, joggers and walkers will take part in the race\, which continues to grow in popularity since it began in 2015. \nTeams of four are invited to enter the race\, and all team runners start together\, with team scores determined by the total time of all members of the team.  Teams will compete to win an array of prizes\, ranging from cash prizes to vouchers provided by Total Physio and the Beacon Hotel.  The race starts and ends on Three Rock Road in the heart of the Sandyford Business District.  Participants will meet up after the race at the Race HQ at Spirit Volvo on Birch Avenue\, where they will be able enjoy refreshments from Freshii\, as well as receiving their race bags featuring a range of goodies from sponsors.

SUMMARY:Dunderry N.S fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Dunderry national school in Meath are holding their annual 5km and 10km road race fundraiser on Sunday the 15th of September at 12pm. The race is a fundraiser for the school but also run in memory of former pupil Alan Cosgrove. This will be the second year the event has run and will follow on from the hugely enjoyable day had last year. \nAn extremely flat course gives rise to the opportunity of a 5km or 10km PB for those  looking to push themselves but fun run/walk entrants are very welcome. \nRegistration is available through www.popupraces.ie or on the day at Dunderry school from 10. Race start time is 12pm and family friendly prizes will be awarded to fastest runners on the day.

DESCRIPTION:5k Memorial Runway Run for charity on the runway used by Dara for ten years while based with Rescue117 at Waterford Airport. \nCome and enjoy a wonderful day! Appropriate for all running levels. The 5km course is flat\, fast and set at Waterford Airport and Waterford Airport Business Park. This course is quite flat with no significant change in elevation. Due to time restrictions walkers cannot be accommodated on the course. Strict cut off time of 45 mins tail runner will enforce this. Also due to the fact we will be running on the runway\, the course can not accommodate strollers or dogs and runners will not be allowed to bring any items with them airside.
