DESCRIPTION:The Gorgeous Gort 5K will start at George’s Street Gort and will take you through the town of Gort and around the scenic hinterland via secondary roads. \nThe race will finish close to Gort Community centre not far from the start line. The race route is Jones counter measured and Athletics Ireland permitted. Entrants will be chip timed. \n***Special reduced entry fee for Couples and special prize for first couple home…………..it is Valentines Day after all…..well nearly anyway*** \nNew 5k race route for 2018\nA fast flat route. The route can be viewed at www.southgalwayac.ie \nEntry both on the day and online at active.com \nThe race will start at 1.30pm and race entrants are asked to assemble outside Gort Community Centre at 1.20pm prior to being walked to the start line by race marshalls. \nRegistration will open at 11.30am in Gort Community centre where pre-registered entrants can collect their race packs. \nTechnical race t-shirts (Male and Female fit) are guaranteed for entrants registered prior to February 1st\, 2018. The Good Run is back this Good Friday to get your Easter weekend off to a healthy start.  \nThe event is a charity fun run taking place on Good Friday\, 30 March 2018 in the stunning grounds of St. Anne’s Park\, Raheny in Dublin. SUMMARY:5k Glow Run
DESCRIPTION:This year’s 5k Glow Run will be held in memory of Jacinta O’Brien\, a former member of the Physical Education and Sports Science Department in UL who sadly passed away from SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) in 2004. Jacinta completely immersed herself in the UL community\, in sport and within the PESS faculty. In remembrance of her passing\, each year a charity run is organized by the 2nd year Sport and Exercise Science students. \nThis year\, all the money raised from the run will be donated to Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Limerick Suicide Watch. Temple Street Hospital was chosen for their vital work in providing medical treatment for children throughout Ireland. Limerick Suicide watch aims to help people in distress or that may be feeling suicidal. Each week patrol teams are sent out to keep eyes on the river and be of assistance to anyone in need.
