Safety is our number one priority and the beast from the east has compromised this.\nWe would like to apologize to all runners. This event has been so successful for the past 13 years that it has inspired many other communities to stage similar events. Lá an 10k is a major social event for Inis Meáin\, that sees the return of many familiar faces year after year. Coláiste Naomh Eoin the Island’s secondary school is one of Ireland’s most successful small schools and this event is key to ensuring that the school continues to thrive\, thus ensuring the viability of this Atlantic gem. \nThe course is exceptionally scenic with a choice between a 5km or 10km road race or a more difficult 12km route which includes an adventure beach run along ‘Ceann Gainimh’. Our 5K category was added to cater for both novice and senior interests. \nEach entrant receives an exclusive race pack that includes a beanie hat from the luxury Inis Meáin label\, a memento T-shirt and fuel for the Journey! DESCRIPTION:Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI)\, with the support of Today FM’s Matt Cooper and Ireland’s most capped female athlete Fionnuala McCormack\, are encouraging people to put their best foot forward and take part in the third annual DSI ‘Purple Run’ proudly supported by MACE and help celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. \nRun With Us\nThe charity is encouraging everyone to ‘Run with us\, not for us’ as the event is a celebration of people with Down syndrome in Ireland. The Purple Run will take place on Saturday\, March 24th at 11am\, in the Phoenix Park\, Dublin. \nThe event is open to all age groups and abilities and participants can choose to run\, walk or push a buggy over the 5km or 1km distance\, allowing all the family to take part. Registration for the event takes place online only at www.downsyndrome.ie and costs €20 which includes a ‘Purple Run 2018’ t-shirt. DESCRIPTION:Calling all runners\, walkers and joggers! The Good Run is back this Good Friday to get your Easter weekend off to a healthy start.  \nThe event is a charity fun run taking place on Good Friday\, 30 March 2018 in the stunning grounds of St. Anne’s Park\, Raheny in Dublin. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting the fight against Motor Neurone Disease. \nYou can choose to run or walk the 5km  or the shorter 2.5km option. \n\n50% of proceeds will be donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) and\n50% will be donated to Project MinE (a research programme dedicated to discovering the genetic cause of MND to enable treatment to be developed).\n\nWalkers\, runners and families are invited to take part and join in the fun while taking in the atmosphere of St Anne’s Park.
