SUMMARY:Moneystown NS 4 Mile Retro Road Race 2024
DESCRIPTION:This year Moneystown NS are running our first ever Road Race. The route is 4 miles long or 6.5km. It takes a very scenic journey through the rolling landscape of the Moneystown countryside. \nThe route has plenty to challenge the more experienced runner as the course is more undulating than many other courses. \nRegistration is online\, and participants may also register on the morning of the race in the school hall. \nThe roads in the area are rural and peaceful\, however they will be well stewarded and marshalled to ensure the safety of all participants. \nThere will be a water station at the approximate half way point of the race. Following the race all participants are welcomed back to the school for refreshments of tea\, coffee\, sandwiches and sweet treats. \nThere will be generous cash prizes for the first three males and females over the line along with spot prizes for participants. \nRegistration on the day is €25 for adults\, €15 for under 16’s\, €50 for families and €5 for the 2 km field race for children. DESCRIPTION:Mayo AC are delighted to present the inaugural Foxford 4 Miler in memory of our friends Ann Murray & Mickey Ruane\, stalwarts of our club who tragically passed away in the last few years.\nThis course is a flat and fast course\, which bodes well for speedy times on the day. This route for this event has sentimental significance for both Ann & Mickey. They competed in a 4 mile race in 2006.\nOn that day there were just 12 competitors. Mickey’s wife Mary was also a competitor\, while Ann’s husband Paddy drove the lead car – a real family affair. Mayo AC chairman John Byrne ran a lifetime best 4 mile time of 19.53. This is both a celebration of our new facility and importantly an opportunity to fundraise to offset the capital costs of the project. \n  \nIt will be the first part of the €250\,000 investment in an athletics hub. The new facility will help undoubtedly attract more participants\, foster local talent and signal a turning point in athletics and a new era. \nThe race will also form part of the Kildare Road Race Series (incorporating the ‘Pat Maleady Memorial Run’) \nThe investment in Clane Athletics and the facilities will transform athletics for our current stars and the stars of the future. DESCRIPTION:The Lake Region Medical 4 Mile Fun Run/2 Mile Walk takes place on Sunday 7th October at 12:30pm on the scenic grounds of the JFK Arboretum just outside New Ross in County Wexford.\nThis charity event is in aid of the Educate Together\, National School\, New Ross and St Patrick’s Special School\, Enniscorthy. \n \nThe day will commence with registration from 11:30am and events kicking off with the “Lake Region Kiddies Dash” at 12:30pm which covers distances of up to 80 meter sprints for kids from the ages of 4 to 12 years old (kids go free). This will be followed by a 4 mile timed run @ 1:30pm consisting of 2 laps of the park for runners of all ages and disciplines. DESCRIPTION:Ox Mountain Challenge Run 2018 \n  \nThe 2nd Annual Ox Mountain Challenge is a10 mile Road Race / Mountain Run with a half way split. It is a Community Run that will take place on Saturday October 6th at 1.00 p.m.  \n  \nSkreen / Dromard Community Centre will be the base for the Run where registration\, briefing\, parking and changing facilities will be available .The Community Centre is located on the main Sligo- Ballina Road (N59) approx. 6 miles from Ballisadare. Runners can pick up their Race Tags etc on Friday 6th from 7pm – 10pm & and on the morning of the run from 10am – 12am.  Late registration will be available during both time slots. \nTo accommodate fitness of all levels a team relay of 4 X 2.5 mile race will be available along with a 4 mile run / walk .This run will be a smaller loop of the 10 mile run but will have the same start and finish. As this is a new run on the athletic Club Calendar early entry is advisable. Online registration is through Core Timing and will close one week before race day. This year it will be run in memory of our friend & clubmate\, the late great Michael “Curley” Cunningham who passed away in 2017. As per his wishes we will make a generous donation to the Oncology Unit of CUH. A perpetual cup will be presented to the winner of the race this & every year.
