SUMMARY:Carrickfinn 10k Coastal Run
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss out on your opportunity to run\, jog\, or walk the most scenic 10k on the planet. 2nd of August 2021\, save the date! #runDonegal \nFollow the event on Facebook: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/Carrickfinn-10k-Coastal-Run-100749412268063 \n  \nAbout the organisers: \n\nRosses AC are a well-established and rapidly growing athletic club who welcome runners and athletes of all abilities from 7 years to 70+ years. Based at Carrickfin\, and with our distinctive orange vests\, the club endeavors to encourage a spirit of fair play and sportmanship at all times where we believe that Athletics\, if done properly\, is much more that just ‘running’……\nThe club is supported by a hard working committee\, coaches and volunteers who ensure the clubs’ development. Membership has increased dramatically making us one of the largest clubs in the country with over 330 members in 2020 and on track to improve on the number in 2021. Our athletes regularly contest local\, provincial and national competitions annually and we have also had Ireland representation at Underage and Masters levels in recent years. Our juvenile/junior athletes have now returned to competition and over the summer the club will have 70+ athletes aged u9 – 20 competing at County\, Ulster and National Championships. Our senior & master athletes continue to lead the way in road competitions county wide.\nThe club provides a full athletics programme all year around in Indoor\, Track & Field\, Cross Country\, Road & Marathon running and Sportshall at all ages. In 2016 an ambitious 5 year club plan was developed focused on a number of areas around coach and athlete development pathway\, enhancing facilities and partnerships within the community to provide a platform for competitive and noncompetitive members of all ages and abilities. Off the field the club is extremely proud of what has been achieved\, with the redevelopment of the track surface at Carrickfinn\, and more recently lights erected which has been a huge addition over the winter to enable the clubs to train during the long winter evenings. The next phase which has already started is another 5 year plan for 2021 – 2026.\nThe club has ambitious plans and will continue to drive forward in progressing on a number of key fronts. We are excited and look forward to what the future holds and where we can bring our club. Check us out at https://www.facebook.com/RossesAC.\n\n\n“The Future is Bright\, the Future is Orange”

SUMMARY:Lough Cutra Castle 10k\, Half Marathon & Marathon
DESCRIPTION:***The May event has been deferred to this new date in September due to the ongoing COVID19 situation. ** \nLough Cutra Castle in Gort is the backdrop to this action-packed weekend of triathlon racing in Gort\, Co. Galway\, hosted within the beautiful grounds of the Castle and surrounding area of stunning South Galway. \nCastle Run Series\n\nBuilding on the success of the Castle Run Series introduction in 2018\, with the Marathon\, Half Marathon and 10k will continue to take place at Lough Cutra Castle on Sunday 30th May. \nThis stunning and unique multi-terrain course will incorporate spectator friendly loops of beautiful countryside\, the Castle lake\, quaint local villages and of course Lough Cutra Castle itself. Each runner will receive a medal and will be welcomed across the finish line with a banquet of well-earned treats\, with live bands\, food stalls\, a retail area and camping at the castle making the weekend a festival of sporting achievements. \nIn addition to the Run Series events there’s a lot more on offer over the weekend to suit all athletes across a multitude of disciplines. \nCastle Swim Series\nThe swim only event provides the choice of three different distances: 5km 2.5km and 1mile (see price table below) and boasts a unique and stunning swim route in all the stunning castle lakes. \nThe swim described by many triathletes as the ‘best open water swim ever completed’ will now be open to outdoor swimmers as an event in its own right. \nOne mile leisure and family swim \nEnjoy the beautiful setting of Lough Cutra Castle at your own pace. Swim any stroke you like (breaststroke encouraged)\, swim and chat with friends as you go around. Don’t worry about how long it takes (however time limit set at 90 minutes)\, just enjoy it. Under 16’s welcome if accompanied throughout by a competent responsible adult\, however we do have a minimum age of 13. \n\nMultiSport\n\nIf the thought of completing all three disciplines of triathlon at once is holding you back from signing up to one of our events\, our multisport distances could be perfect for you! Perhaps an injury is preventing you from running\, you can’t get your hands on a bike for the summer or the idea of swimming in the lake is just too much. We have created the multisport events to allow our competitors to compete in two disciplines of your choice within our triathlons. The same stunning courses tailored to suit you! \n\n\nTriathlon Events\nAll of the triathlon races at Lough Cutra Castle kick-off by launching into an open-water swim in the lake\, transitioning to the bike route which circumnavigates Lough Cutra itself with The Half Iron Gauntlet cycle taking in the beautiful and breathtaking Burren National Park whilst the run features a mixed terrain in the stunning surroundings of the Castle. \nThe 2021 edition of the Castle Tri Series of events promises once again to be an amazing festival of triathlon & multisport with events of various distances to test those chasing a personal best and embrace those who are dipping their toes into the sport of triathlon for the very first time. \nThere are a host of junior races on offer for the aspiring young athlete across the weekend so come with the family and fanclub\, enjoy the racing and festival atmosphere regardless of age or ability and make Lough Cutra your destination race in 2021. \n\nThere is something for everyone at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon & Multi-Sport festival in 2021\, check out all the details on www.loughcutratri.ie  \nFollow us on Facebook HERE \n\n

SUMMARY:Kilmovee 10km
DESCRIPTION:Kilmovee 10K was established in 2010 and has been run & has grown each year since known as the ‘friendliest & flattest race in the West’ our reputation for our pre & post-race hospitality\, and the scenery is what has helped us grow over and is what brings competitors back and new faces each year. \nThe race is run in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA\, \nSince its launch\, we have raised over €80\,000 for the Hospice Foundation\, Thank You! \nEach year we also run a free secondary competition called the Micheal McDonnell Memorial Sheild for teachers and students to represent their school\, college\, or university. \n \nLast year due to Covid 19 we as many races had to cancel\, but instead of wandering the course in despair\, missing our running\, jogging\, and walking friends we launched our Face Mask Appeal with an aim to purchase 10\,000 (10k) face masks for frontline workers\, including staff at Mayo Roscommon Hospice\, Local Nursing Homes\, Mayo Civil Defense and Local Gardai – we finally delivered over 13\,000 with your help. \nThis Year we are back to a real event with the option of a Virtual for our friends near and far or those isolated for the Kilmovee 10k Family we ask you all to join us to make the comeback bigger and better. \nWe hope this opportunity will allow our friends from all over the world to participate in our event – and help us grow and continue the fantastic work our volunteers do each year (but give them a day off\, well most of them). \nWhy not register and join us virtually in 2022 – then come (hopefully) to Kilmovee\, Mayo in 2023 to sample our hospitality first hand. \nFor more information on past & future events please check out our website www.kilmovee10k.com and our facebook page fb.me/kilmovee10k \nFurther information about Mayo Roscommon Hospice can be found on www.hospice.ie \nEmail: kilmovee10k@gmail.com\nWebsite: kilmovee10k.com \nRegister Now CLICK HERE
