DESCRIPTION:Kilcullen GAA’s “Run Run Rudolph” Christmas event is back for 2023 but is bigger & better – we’ve added a 10 KM event (2 laps of our 5K course) plus the 5 KM Run & 2.5 K Family Walk/Run events. \nRun Run Rudolph 2023 will take place on Sunday the 10th of December 2023 starting & finishing at our clubhouse. \nAgain\, this event is a fundraiser supporting the addition of 3 Hurling & Football playing pitches & other infrastructure at our Kilcullen clubhouse\, all part of our “Field of Dreams” plans. \nThe event is open to athletes\, fun runners\, joggers and walkers. \nDogs must be kept on a lead at all times & controlled. \nAll entrants will get Christmas bells with their race numbers to create a lovely Christmas atmosphere as they circuit Kilcullen town. \nPrizes for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female runners in both 10 & 5 KM events as well as spot prizes for the Family Walk/Run event. We’ll also have prizes for the best fancy-dress costumes. \nOnline entry closes at midnight on Friday the 8th of December\, late entries will be available the evening of Saturday the 9th of December at the Clubhouse & limited late entries on Sunday morning (but only before 10 AM). \nNote: Registration may close earlier if we reach our numbers limit before this date. \nThis year we are offering a postal service (for an additional fee). Our partner Pop-Up Races will post your event numbers to you approximately 1 week before the event thus making your event morning easier & stress free. \nDepending on numbers selecting this option – we will offer number collection at the Clubhouse on the evening of Saturday December 9th & Sunday December 10th (but only before 10 AM). \nThe event will start at 11 AM with the 5KM & 10KM events departing 1st to the sound of Chuck Berry’s Run Rudolph Run. The 2.5 KM Family Walk/Run will depart shortly afterwards again to the sound on Run Rudolph Run. \nBoth the 5 & 10 K events will be Chip-timed. DESCRIPTION:Distances: \n5k \n10k \n12k \nInis Iron Meáin is the original Island road race which continues to impress runners! This event has been so successful that it has inspired many other communities to stage similar events. ‘Lá an 10K’ is a major social event for Inis Meáin\, that sees the return of many familiar faces year after year.  \nInis Iron Meáin is cleverly designed\, affording participants a choice of 3 courses. All courses follow the same route for the most part. The 5K NOVICE COURSE winds along 5K of spectacular island scenery. The 10K or ‘CÚRSA CRUA’\, covers both sides of this beautiful island and the 12K or ‘CÚRSA FÍOR CHRUA’  follows the same route but at roughly the mid-way point\, there is a turn-off which takes in a sand dune and beach run. This route then joins up again with the road route after 2 kilometres. \nThe courses are very well marked and takes in a large part of the island\, with spectacular views and variation in terrain. The island is steeped in history\, and is renowned for its traditional music and unspoilt sandy beaches. \n  \nInishbofin Half Marathon & 10k will take place on Saturday 11th May 2024.  Whether you’re a serious runner looking for a new challenge\, or a rookie looking to run\, jog or walk on quiet roads\, the route offers a mix of flat and inclined terrain\, meandering through fine scenery\, with spectacular views of the beautiful Connemara mountains. This is an over 16s event. \nWhen: Friday 27th December 2024 @ 11.00. \nHow: Register Here \nPrice: €26 (+reg fee) Includes a technical ‘turkey’ running tee-shirt \nDetails: 2024 will be the 13th Fat Turkey RUN. \nThis event sells out each year so if you want to guarantee your T-shirt\, please sign up online. \nThe Run will start outside St Fintans Church @11.00.  Registration will be in Suttonians RFC from 09.00. \nThe Fat Turkey 10km event is to support Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924) and the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives\, and help to restore their confidence and independence). \nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintans Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route. \nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip & T-shirt can be collected  from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available. \nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety / event briefing.  Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintans Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11.00 sharp. \nOn completion of the race participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. Prize giving will take place at the club. \nCost €26 + Reg Fee.  The Fat Turkey Event is a fun filled morning that has been an enormous success over the last number of years. This charity provides vital services to over 100 children and adults in Galway city and county\, and receives no government funding. this year we are also supporting 2 local causes\, Inishbofin Playground Fundraiser and MADRA dog rescue. \n  \nItinerary \n  \n  \nFRIDAY \n\nFerry departs Cleggan at 11.30am\, 2pm\, 7.30pm (this is included in your registration fee)\n\n  \nSATURDAY \n\n8 am special early morning boat leaves Cleggan (MUST be pre booked\, €20 supplement)\nHalf Marathon 9.15am – meet at Community Centre for pre- race briefing\, collect race numbers and hand in sponsorship/donations.  10am- Half Marathon commences (snacks & water stops during event)\n10K 10.15am meet at community centre for pre-race briefing\, collect race numbers and hand in sponsorship. 11am- 10K commences (snacks & water stops during event)\nPost event refreshment at Inishbofin community centre.\n7pm Barbeque with live music at the Dolphin Hotel\n\n  \n\nSUNDAY \n\nFerry departs Inishbofin at 10am\, 1pm and 5pm (this is included in your registration fee)\n\n  \nNOTE: Ferry ticket and BBQ are included in your race registration. The run is mostly off road and will take you through scenic woodland countryside and around the beautiful Roundwood Reservoir.
