DESCRIPTION:Following on from the success of last year\, the Wild Goose Chase 10k and 5k returns for the 6th time on Saturday\, 2nd December 2017 at 12 noon starting and finishing at the Westerns GFC\, Reaghstown\, Ardee (off N2 between Ardee and Carrickmacross opposite Dooley’s pub). All proceeds go to Ardee Hospice Homecare and redevelopment of Westerns Grounds. \nEach year this event has gone from strength to strength and is now a fixture in the diary of many running clubs\, sports teams and fun runners/walkers in the North East and beyond. Last year no less than 5 counties were represented.\nThe course follows a beautiful countryside route with magnificent views of the Cooley Mountains and Slieve Gullion. The 10k passes the historic Knockabbey Castle and both courses take in the site of the infamous Wild Goose Lodge.\nOpen to all levels\, ages and abilities\, with cash prizes and trophies in various categories for the more competitive there’s something for everyone.\nThe event is chip timed with a measured and km marked course\, water stations\, custom medals\, refreshments after and plenty of fun.\nSo get registered today and join in the Wild Goose Chase 2017 ‘coz Christmas is coming and the wild goose is getting FIT!!

DESCRIPTION:A fun run open to all ages and abilities. Each participant gets a full Santa Suit for the event. There is a choice of 5 different customized medals at the end. Both Children and Adult size costumes available. \nWe will have the “Real” Santa in his igloo down on the beach for all the children to visit. Any Children who officially entered and ran the race can visit him and get a free Christmas Present. DESCRIPTION:The 16th Fields of Athenry 10km will take place on St. Stephen’s Day\, December 26th at 11am. \nOver the last number of years\, this has become one of the leading road races in the country\, and we aim to continue to improve the event. The race will be held on its traditional route\, finishing under the medieval arch in Athenry. SUMMARY:The Fat Turkey 10km
DESCRIPTION:2017 will be the 8th Fat Turkey Run. All participants are required to enter online. The event last year sold out\, so please don’t leave it too late.\nThe Fat Turkey 10km event supports developing rugby in Suttonians Rugby Football Club (established in 1924)\, with a donation going towards the IRFU Charitable Trust (Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives and help to restore their confidence and independence).\nThe scenic route is a challenging 10km course\, commencing at St Fintan’s Church\, Sutton\, going all the way up Carrickbrack Road\, right at the Summit Shop\, right again onto Baily Green Road and up to the Summit Car Park (turnaround and aid/water station) and then back down on the same route.\nParticipant Sign In\, race number\, timing chip\, T-shirt and goodie bags can be collected from 09.30 in Suttonians RFC opposite Sutton Dart Station where parking\, changing and shower facilities are available.\nSign In will close at 10.30 followed by a 5-10 mins safety/event briefing. Participants will then take a short walk/jog to St Fintan’s Church car park which is the start location. The finish line will be on the grass verge opposite St Fintans Church. The race will begin at 11am sharp.\nOn completion of the race\, participants will jog/walk through Sutton cross to Suttonians R.F.C (approx 500 yards) where changing facilities and complimentary tea/coffee\, biscuits and full bar will be available. Prize giving will take place at the club.\nThere will also be a host of family activities at the club with live music\, hot food and full bar facilities etc.\nCost €23 + Reg Fee. The Fat Turkey Event is a fun-filled family day that has been an enormous success over the last number of years.

DESCRIPTION:Land of the Giants Duathlon (Claremorris ) December 28th\nThis Christmas event attracts people from near and far due to the time of year with people returning home for the festive season. It’s also a great opportunity to catch up with old friends while burning up unwanted festive calories. \nLOTG is the first round of the Ireland West Duathlon series\, (entry the series below)\nThe event starts in the heart of Claremorris town with a 5k run that takes participants out to Mc Mahon Park where they run around in the safe environment of the beautiful Land of the Giants walkway.\nStage 2 is an 18k cycle taking in the undulating roads of Mayfields and Carramore before returning via the Ballinrobe road.\nStage 3 is a 2k run around Clare Lake\, then back to the finish line at the Square.\nPrizes for the top 3 overall and age category prizes\, there are always plenty of spot prizes up for grabs at prize giving.
