SUMMARY:10 Mile Sheep's Head Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. The course follows the Glenlough Loop on the Sheep’s Head Way\, with walkers starting at 9.30am\, followed by the runners at 11.30am. \nThis year all proceeds from the event will go to Muintir Bhaire Sea Scouts and Muintir Bhaire Foroige group. \nIf chip-timing\, a flat course and a finishing medal is your thing\, this is not for you! What it is however is a community based race\, where people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take in the fantastic views the area has to offer. \nThere will be water stations on the course and light refreshments post-race.

DESCRIPTION:The 4th annual Wild Atlantic 10 mile road race takes place this year on Sunday 16th August.  The race will begin in the Belleek area of Ballina town and will take participants on a fantastic route through the picturesque Belleek Woods that runs parallel to the iconic River Moy and along part of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway.  The route is ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance and the timing of our race fits perfectly with those training for the Dublin City Marathon or other autumn marathons. \nBallina Athletic Club has successfully hosted a range of races over the years from 10k to half marathons to marathons so we can guarantee participants a well-run event.  Refreshments will be served after the event … including our legendary cheesecakes! \nEvent details & schedule  \n\nAAI approved and Jones Counter measured.\nRace is chipped and timed.\nRace commences at 11.00 am SHARP on Sunday 16th\nStarting point – Belleek Castle Road.\nFinishing point – Ballina Athletic Club track.\nRace number\, chip & t-shirt collection: Saturday 15th from 5.00 – 6.30 pm & Sunday from 9.00 – 10.30 am SHARP\nLimited number of late registrations may be available on the morning.\nLimited number of virtual entries available with medal.\nWater stations on the route.\nHot showers available after the event.\nRace briefing will be emailed to participants before the event.\nEvery finisher will receive a bespoke medal on the day.\nFirst 200 registered participants will receive a quality technical t-shirt.\n\nPrizes  \n\nCash prizes & trophies for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd male and female.\nCash prize for breaking the course record.\nAge group winners – Male & female 040\, 050 & 060.\nTrophies for first Ballina AC male & female.\n\nWe would like to extend a very warm welcome to all participants entering the Wild Atlantic 10 miler and thank you for entering our race.

SUMMARY:Ardagh 10 Mile Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The annual Ardagh 10 Mile Challenge takes place on a scenic\, point-to-point course during the peak of Winter.  The first two miles of the course brings you on the scenic route around the village before you head up over the mountain\, the last half mile has you once again running through the historic and award winning village of Ardagh to finish at the village green. \n  \nEvent Details and Schedule \nOur annual 10 Mile Challenge Run takes place on Saturday 28th of December in Ardagh. \n  \nChip Timing \nAll entrants in both the 10 Mile Challenge and the 5K Fun Run will be chip timed.  Results will be available online on our Facebook Page shortly after completion of the race. \n  \nMedal \nEvery entrant on completion of the 10 Mile Challenge and 5km chipped race will receive a specially commissioned medal. \n  \nPrizes \nFor the 10 mile Challenge \nPrize money this year for the first three ladies AND the first three gentlemen over the finish line. \n1st  €100\, 2nd €75 and 3rd €50 \n  \nTrophies for the first Man and Woman in the 10 mile \nO/40\,  0/50 and  O60 \n  \n10 mile Course Record Bonus €100 \n1st Man to break 55 minutes \n1st Woman to break 60 minutes \n  \nFor the 5k Run \nTrophies for the first three ladies and gentlemen over the finish line. \nTrophies for the first three boys and girls under 16 on the day of the race over the finish line. \n  \nThis event raises funds for Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games.  All money raised goes towards providing community games activities for Children in our Parish. \n10 Mile Registration online up to and including 23rd December will be €20*. SUMMARY:The Warriors Run
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Strandhill\, Co. Sligo home of The Warriors Run\, one of Ireland’s toughest competitive races. \nStrandhill Village is 8 kilometres west of Sligo town\, situated on the Atlantic seaboard and nestled at the foot of Knocknarea Mountain. On its summit (1\,070 ft)\, sits a megalithic cairn where Maeve the legendary Queen of Connaught is reputedly buried. \nEach year runners from all over Ireland (and various parts of the world) converge on Strandhill to follow in the footsteps of her ancient warriors. \nThe Warriors Run takes competitors from the Cannon Gun at the beachfront in Strandhill to the top of Knocknarea\, around Queen Maeve’s Cairn and back to the beachfront again. For the uninitiated\, a 15 Kilometre race might seem easy. Not the Warriors Run!  The race is classified as a road and hill race or multi-terrained\, so whilst approximately nine of its kilometres are on paved roads\, it is the special six kilometres in the middle\, to the top of Knocknarea that gives the race its bite. These six kilometres include a 700 foot climb through fields\, loose gravel\, unsurfaced and heather paths. At its steepest incline on the way up\, even the most professional athlete slows to a walk and then brace themselves to face the equally daunting downhill run\, back down the often slippery slopes\, even in the driest of weather. \nDespite the endurance trait of the race\, each year around 1000 runners take part in this unique event to cross the finish line at the beachfront and earn the honour of being able to say that they completed The Warriors Run.

SUMMARY:Strawberry 5 Mile and 10 Mile Road Race
DESCRIPTION:This is the second year of the event which comprises a new 10 mile and a 5 mile road race. The race takes place at the height of the Strawberry Season. \nThe race is hosted this year exclusively by Slaney Olympic AC as a club fundraiser. \nEntry fees have been kept to a minimum while still retaining the usual high standards of the race. The 10 Mile runners will receive a custom made medal and a custom buff whilst the 5 mile runners will just receive the medal. \nUp to 22nd June entry fees are: 10 mile race €20; 5 mile Race €15\, thereafter on race day entries are 10 mile €25 and 5 Mile €20. \nThe event will attract everyone from the country’s top athletes to the club and fun runners. There are pacers for the 10 miles at 60 mins\, 70 mins\, 80 mins and 90 mins to help participants achieve their goals.\nThere will be prizes (more details later) in the open races and and all veteran categories. All runners receive a special Finisher’s Medal and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the Riverside Park Hotel. \nThe races start and finish on the banks of the River Slaney in the historic town of Enniscorthy. The 10 Mile route runs along the river\, through the town and past the castle before heading out on tree lined roads through the pastoral County Wexford countryside in all its summer glory. The race takes place at the height of the Strawberry Season. \nThe race is hosted this year exclusively by Slaney Olympic AC as a club fundraiser. \nEntry fees have been kept to a minimum while still retaining the usual high standards of the race. The 10 Mile runners will receive a custom made medal and a custom buff whilst the 5 mile runners will just receive the medal. \nUp to 22nd June entry fees are: 10 mile race €20; 5 mile Race €15\, thereafter on race day entries are 10 mile €25 and 5 Mile €20. \nThe event will attract everyone from the country’s top athletes to the club and fun runners. There are pacers for the 10 miles at 60 mins\, 70 mins\, 80 mins and 90 mins to help participants achieve their goals.\nThere will be prizes (more details later) in the open races and and all veteran categories. All runners receive a special Finisher’s Medal and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the Riverside Park Hotel. \nThe races start and finish on the banks of the River Slaney in the historic town of Enniscorthy. The 10 Mile route runs along the river\, through the town and past the castle before heading out on tree lined roads through the pastoral County Wexford countryside in all its summer glory. All water stations supply 250ml bottles. \nThe event is renowned for its festive and friendly atmosphere with music and race commentary and a start /finish area which is second to none. \nEvent details and schedule\nStart Time: 10am for 10 Mile and 10.30 for 5 mile race
