The race will begin in Belleek in Ballina town and will take participants on a fantastic route through the picturesque Belleek Woods that runs parallel to the iconic River Moy and along part of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway. The route is ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance and the timing of our race fits in nicely with those training for the Dublin City Marathon or other late autumn marathons. Ballina AC has successfully hosted a range of races from 10k to 10 miles and marathons so we can guarantee participants a well-run event. DESCRIPTION:Race Venue/Location: Kilbeggan\, Westmeath \nEntry Fees: \nReal Event – 25 euro including postage of chipped number & finishers medal on the day \nOptional purchase of event t-shirt \nCourse: \nThe race starts on the Moate Road in Kilbeggan at the junction of the Clara Road. This road will be familiar to many as the ‘old N6 Galway road’ which has now been replaced with the M6 motorway. The race will proceed straight into Horseleap village which runners take a left turn bringing the race onto country roads towards the village of Clara. Before Clara runners take another left turn which brings them on the final 2.75 miles straight back into the finish at Kilbeggan GAA grounds just yards from the race start. The course is a challenging course. Hosted by the well-known and experienced Mooreabbey Milers AC\, the 10 mile moves to Sunday 10th July this year.\nMany runners posted a PB for the distance as predicted by the hosts as this is a perfect course for clocking a good time.\nStarting just over the border in county Tipperary\, at the ruins of the Mooreabbey\, the race moves into county Limerick and through the village of Galbally\, out the Tipperary Road and takes left turns from there. Are walkers permitted in the race?\nNo walkers are permitted. \n5. Where are race headquarters?\nKinsale Community School. The race will be signposted on all major routes coming in to Kinsale. \n6. There\nwill be some parking available at Kinsale GAA pitch approx 600m from school. There will be field\nparking available on a parallel road to the school approx 800m walk. What must I do with the chip?\nThe chip will be attached to your race number. Do not bend or try to fold your number as this could\ndamage the chip and you will not receive a time. Numbers must be worn on the front of your vest/shirt. NOT on the shorts. This is so that the chip can be read accurately. \n9. Can I transfer my number?\nTransfers are not permitted. \n10. Are IPods/ MP3’s permitted? \nI Pods\, MP3’s etc are not permitted for safety on the route. \n11. Are there toilets at the start line?\nToilets are available downstairs in Kinsale Community School gym in the dressing rooms and next door\nto the dressing rooms. There are also toilets inside the front door of the main school building on the ground floor\, the first floor and the second floor in the stairwell. On the first floor there are more toilets at the other end of that corridor. \n12. Are there changing facilities available?\nTo be confirmed at a later date due to covid considerations \n13. Will there be a baggage area?\nThere will be an un-supervised baggage area at the school track area – please do not bring valuables. \n14. Where can I warm up?\nThe track is available as a warm up area. The car park in front of the track and the roads adjacent to the\nschool can also be used. \n15. Where is the race starting?\nThe start line is on the road outside the main gate of Kinsale Community School. \n16. Will there be first aid facilities there?\nRed Cross ambulance will be present at the track and will be driving the route. \n17. What will happen at the finish line?\nAt the finish the race will enter the track and turn right\, running anti-clockwise around 3 sides of the\ntrack. The finish line will be on the straight at the school side of the track. Please proceed to baggage\nclaim in the centre of the track. \n18. SUMMARY:10 Mile Sheep's Head Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. The course follows the Glenlough Loop on the Sheep’s Head Way\, with walkers starting at 9.30am\, followed by the runners at 11.30am. \nThis year all proceeds from the event will go to Muintir Bhaire Sea Scouts and Muintir Bhaire Foroige group. \nIf chip-timing\, a flat course and a finishing medal is your thing\, this is not for you! What it is however is a community based race\, where people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take in the fantastic views the area has to offer. \nThere will be water stations on the course and light refreshments post-race.

DESCRIPTION:The 4th annual Wild Atlantic 10 mile road race takes place this year on Sunday 16th August.  The race will begin in the Belleek area of Ballina town and will take participants on a fantastic route through the picturesque Belleek Woods that runs parallel to the iconic River Moy and along part of the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway.  The route is ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance and the timing of our race fits perfectly with those training for the Dublin City Marathon or other autumn marathons. \nBallina Athletic Club has successfully hosted a range of races over the years from 10k to half marathons to marathons so we can guarantee participants a well-run event.  Refreshments will be served after the event … including our legendary cheesecakes! \nEvent details & schedule  \n\nAAI approved and Jones Counter measured.\nRace is chipped and timed.\nRace commences at 11.00 am SHARP on Sunday 16th\nStarting point – Belleek Castle Road.\nFinishing point – Ballina Athletic Club track.\nRace number\, chip & t-shirt collection: Saturday 15th from 5.00 – 6.30 pm & Sunday from 9.00 – 10.30 am SHARP\nLimited number of late registrations may be available on the morning.\nLimited number of virtual entries available with medal.\nWater stations on the route.\nHot showers available after the event.\nRace briefing will be emailed to participants before the event.\nEvery finisher will receive a bespoke medal on the day.\nFirst 200 registered participants will receive a quality technical t-shirt.\n\nPrizes  \n\nCash prizes & trophies for 1st\, 2nd & 3rd male and female.\nCash prize for breaking the course record.\nAge group winners – Male & female 040\, 050 & 060.\nTrophies for first Ballina AC male & female.\n\nWe would like to extend a very warm welcome to all participants entering the Wild Atlantic 10 miler and thank you for entering our race.
