DESCRIPTION:The annual Sligo Coast to Coast 10 mile run/walk will take place on Sunday September 24th 2023 \nWalkers Commence at 9.30am \nRunners Commence at 10.30am \nThe event is managed by Sligo Athletic Club. \n  \nThe event commences in Strandhill Village near Sligo Rugby Club and finishes on the prom in Rosses Point Village (this route is accurately measured and is open to all. The course is flat with very little in the way of an incline so suits all abilities. \nThe event is run on a ‘not for profit’ basis and the beneficiaries are the North West Hospice\, Focus Ireland and Sligo Athletic Club \n  \nEvent details and schedule; \nSligo Coast to Coast 10 mile run/walk. \nThis unique road race is a Point to Point event encapsulating some of the most beautiful sights along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline. \nBuilding on the success of previous years we guarantee all participants a fantastic route with Chip timing and Medal for all finishers\, plus a technical T-shirt to all entrants registered BEFORE 20.9.2023– limited stock available to those entering after that date- Get signed upearly to avoid disappointment. \nThis run is becoming one of Ireland’s most successful and fastest growing 10 mile road races. The car park in front of the track and the roads adjacent to the\nschool can also be used.\nWhere is the race starting?\nThe start line is on the road outside the main gate of Kinsale Community School.\nWill there be first aid facilities there?\nYes there will be an ambulance and first aid present for the duration of the event.\nWhat will happen at the finish line?\nAt the finish the race will enter the track and turn right\, running anti-clockwise around 3 sides of the\ntrack. DESCRIPTION:Race Venue/Location: Kilbeggan\, Westmeath \nEntry Fees: \nReal Event – 25 euro including postage of chipped number & finishers medal on the day \nOptional purchase of event t-shirt \nCourse: \nThe race starts on the Moate Road in Kilbeggan at the junction of the Clara Road. This road will be familiar to many as the ‘old N6 Galway road’ which has now been replaced with the M6 motorway. The race will proceed straight into Horseleap village which runners take a left turn bringing the race onto country roads towards the village of Clara. Before Clara runners take another left turn which brings them on the final 2.75 miles straight back into the finish at Kilbeggan GAA grounds just yards from the race start. The course is a challenging course. Hosted by the well-known and experienced Mooreabbey Milers AC\, the 10 mile moves to Sunday 10th July this year.\nMany runners posted a PB for the distance as predicted by the hosts as this is a perfect course for clocking a good time.\nStarting just over the border in county Tipperary\, at the ruins of the Mooreabbey\, the race moves into county Limerick and through the village of Galbally\, out the Tipperary Road and takes left turns from there. What must I do with the chip?\nThe chip will be attached to your race number. Do not bend or try to fold your number as this could\ndamage the chip and you will not receive a time. Are IPods/ MP3’s permitted? \nI Pods\, MP3’s etc are not permitted for safety on the route. \n11. Are there toilets at the start line?\nToilets are available downstairs in Kinsale Community School gym in the dressing rooms and next door\nto the dressing rooms. There are also toilets inside the front door of the main school building on the ground floor\, the first floor and the second floor in the stairwell. On the first floor there are more toilets at the other end of that corridor. \n12. Are there changing facilities available?\nTo be confirmed at a later date due to covid considerations \n13. Will there be a baggage area?\nThere will be an un-supervised baggage area at the school track area – please do not bring valuables. \n14. Where can I warm up?\nThe track is available as a warm up area. The car park in front of the track and the roads adjacent to the\nschool can also be used. \n15. Where is the race starting?\nThe start line is on the road outside the main gate of Kinsale Community School. \n16. Will there be first aid facilities there?\nRed Cross ambulance will be present at the track and will be driving the route. \n17. DESCRIPTION:The Sheep’s Head Challenge is a 10 mile\, mainly off road route that begins and finishes at the Tin Pub in Ahakista\, West Cork. The course follows the Glenlough Loop on the Sheep’s Head Way\, with walkers starting at 9.30am\, followed by the runners at 11.30am. \nThis year all proceeds from the event will go to Muintir Bhaire Sea Scouts and Muintir Bhaire Foroige group. \nIf chip-timing\, a flat course and a finishing medal is your thing\, this is not for you!
