DESCRIPTION:Mayo AC are delighted to announce the inaugural CASTLEBAR GREENWAY 10 MILER.\nIt will take place on Sunday\, September 9\, 2018 at 10 a.m \n  \nThe 10 miler is a classic race distance and an ideal step up between 10k and half marathon as well as a weekend long run when combined with a warm up and warm down. All are welcome to run\, walk\, or jog – athletics clubs\, fitness groups etc. \nEntry is €25. The race is AAI permitted and accurately measured. It will be chip timed. \nEvent Schedule –\nRace starts at 10am from Castlebar town park. \nRegistration: from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening\, and\nfrom 8 to 9.30 a.m. on Sunday morning in An\nSportlann/McHale Park. \nTechnical T shirt for 1st 200 registered \nOnline registration will be available at Core Timing via this link: \nhttps://www.njuko.net/greenway10miler \nDistance from An Sportlann to the start at Town Park is about a kilometre (pass by Lidl store and entrance to park is on right after Scoil Raifteiri). \nParking available at Lidl /Castle St car parks and limited space at town park –  all nearby. \nCourse: out and back on Castlebar to Turlough Greenway alongside the Castlebar river\, with a loop around Turlough on public roads taking in views of Round Tower and Turlough House. \nThe 10 miler will also be the final event for Mayo AC members in their 2018 club league. \nTechnical T shirt for 1st 200 registered \nPrizes – men and women \n1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\nOver 40 1st & 2nd\nOver 50 1st & 2nd\nOver 60 1st& 2nd \nPost race refreshments and prize giving will take place afterwards in An Sportlann. \nContacts:  Padraic McVann 087 2403778\, Colette Tuohy 086 3231044 \nAny updates will be added on our www.mayoac.com events calendar.

Waters Ambition Run is kindly supported by SEAT \nwith all proceeds from the race going to our charity partner Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI). \nWe have previously supported SBHI with endurance athlete Shane Finn and are delighted to be working with both again for this exciting event. \nAnd for those of you who are looking for some inspiration look no further than Shane Finn. 26 year old Shane has travelled extensively completing Iron Man triathlons and marathons and only recently ran 24 back to back marathons in 24 days around Ireland raising over €135\,000 for SBHI. Serious inspiration there! \nOur charity partner is Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI). Spina bifida is a condition which affects about one in every 1000 children born per year in Ireland with Ireland having one of the highest incidences of spina bifida births in the world. Spina bifida is the most common neural tube defect (NTD) which causes incomplete development of the spinal cord in the womb. SBHI supports hundreds of individuals across Ireland as they seek to live fulfilled lives with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. \nIf you would like to support this amazing charity then sign up for the T.P.
