SUMMARY:Selfie Isolation Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Tri Talking Sport has set up a FREE fun\, fitness challenge to help keep you motivated and keep your fitness on track whilst we all wait out the COVID19 crisis at home.  The Selfie Isolation Challenge is a bit tongue in cheek\, but it’s simply your commitment to yourself to complete at least 30 minutes of a fitness activity every day whilst observing your duty to stay at home and socially distance yourself from others. \nFun and Movement\nThe emphasis of this challenge is on FUN and movement\, no targets\, no tracker\, just do what you can when you can\, based on your own situation and options available to you at home or within a 2K radius of your home. You can complete sessions posted in our private Facebook group or do your own thing. Involve your family and your friends (from a distance) or not\, the choice is yours. \nNow more than ever we need to support each other through the COVID19 crisis whilst staying at home.  So much has changed across our daily routines\, we need to get creative about how to maintain our fitness and positivity during these uncertain and challenging times.   There is so much we can do at home to ensure we are remaining fit and healthy\, join the challenge and we will try to keep you motivated with tips and challenges over the next few weeks to help not only keep you active but also entertained and hopefully put a smile on your face during this time of uncertainty. \nSign up for FREE today with event partners njuko HERE.

SUMMARY:Half on the Head (Kerryhead Half Marathon and 10k)
DESCRIPTION:The Half on the Head course map and elevation is outlined below. You can also view a Garmin interactive view of the proposed route. \nThe Half on the Head follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballyheigue Village right around the Kerryhead loop before ending up back at the start point. The 13.1 mile run takes you along one of the most unspoilt portions of the Wild Atlantic Way. Run beside the Shannon Estuary with views across the river mouth to the coast of Clare. Glancing back you will see the rugged Kerry coastline stretching to the town of Ballybunion. You might even catch a glimpse of the fabled Cliffs of Dooneen. Upon rounding the point of Kerryhead you will experience the magnificent panorama of Tralee Bay with Mount Brandon and the Maherees as a backdrop. Further along you have stunning views of the coastline stretching from Ballyheigue beach to Banna and Fenit with Blennerville Windmill in the distance. The first half of the course meanders gradually uphill before levelling out at the point of Kerryhead and then beginning a steeper decent back towards the village. Visit our BLOG for details on how best to tackle the route. \nThere are three water stations on the Half Marathon Route (at roughly the 3.5 mile\, 7 mile and 10 mile markers). There are two toilet stops (At the two schools by the 2 mile and 10 miles markers). \nThe 10K route follows the first 5k of the Half Marathon route. Just after the water stop It makes its way back towards Kerryhead before a descent to the cliff road and a run alongside the sea to the finish. View our 10k Route Map \nCheck out our Mile by Mile Story Map of the Route View Story Map \n \nWhat time does the race start?\n\nThe Half Marathon starts at 11am.
