Cork City Marathon

0

Last chance ! Quick reminder that entry for this year’s marathon close this Friday (9th May). If you intend entering and have been putting it off…get that form in now! Brief update:
• COURSE: There are two minor changes to the 2007 route – one at about 17 miles, where you’ll take a short detour around The Lough; the other at about 22 miles, on the Model Farm Road, where instead of going out to the Poulavone Roundabout you’ll turn right onto Church Hill (at Nangles Nursery, for those who know the locality). Otherwise, the course and the relay changeovers are as last year.
• MAP: There’s an outline map of the revised course available at https://planenquiry.corkcity.ie/. Select the ‘map’ tab and zoom into the city area and you should see the marathon route outlined in purple. (If you zoom in too closely, you’ll probably have to turn off some of the planning control tick boxes in the left-hand column.) Should have the finished map shortly.
• WATER: Tipperary Natural Mineral Water has come on board as the official water supplier. We’ll have 500ml bottled water (probably at the first 3 stations) and cups (at the others) on the course.
• ENERGY DRINK: Gatorade will host 3 sampling tables at about the 14, 18 and 22-mile marks. They’ll have Lemon and Orange flavoured Gatorade supplied in cups.
• REGISTRATION: Registration on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June is in Cork City Hall from 10am–6pm.
