Thomas Barr (Ferrybank) is set to race in Ireland’s first 400m hurdles indoors at the Irish Life Health AAI Games in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena on Sunday (February 4) on a big weekend of action.

In an exhibition race Barr will compete against training partners Paul Byrne (St Abban’s) and Ben Kiely (Ferrybank). Byrne holds the Irish best of 51.79 which he set in France last year.

There will be a full programme of events with some international competitors sprinkled in to add to the depth of good domestic competition.

The Irish Life Health Indoor League Final takes place in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown tomorrow (February 3).

Dublin City Harriers and Clonliffe Harriers are favourites once again to retain the respective women’s and men’s titles as they top the tables after two rounds of action.
Meanwhile in Portugal on Sunday, Raheny Shamrock men and Leevale women will be the Irish representation at the European Clubs Cross Country Championships
