0

A campaign was launched yesterday to boost women’s participation in sport in Ireland over the next two years.

The Campaign 20×20 not only seeks to boost female participation in sport but also to increase the media coverage and attendance at female sports events by 20% by 2020.

The campaign being spearheaded by the Federation of Irish Sport which originated and was developed by the creative agency Along Came A Spider, will be supported by; Healthy Ireland, The National Governing Bodies and Local Sports Partnerships who are calling on everyone across Ireland to show their support by pledging one action to show commitment to increasing the opportunities for girls and women to take part in sport.

Everyone has a role to play in encouraging females to participate in sport be it in a team environment, as an individual athlete, at school, at work and beyond. Increasing participation and inclusion in sport for females of all ages will be of huge benefit to our nation as a whole.

You can show your support by putting the two 20×20 stripes on both cheeks and posting using #20×20, #ShowYourStripes and #CantSeeCantBe online across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Follow the campaign on www.20×20.ie
