Eireman X - Off Road Triathlon/ Duathlon

Eireman X began its life as an Off – Road Triathlon. The swim,
off-road cycling and cross terrain running combo has been a big hit
with people. This is an alternative event that has more fun and
adrenaline than normal races, with a bit of madness in-between and
some degree of skill of course.
However, we acknowledge that not everyone likes open water swimming,
so since 2011 we are pleased to include the option of the Off–Road
Duathlon. This is a Run – Bike – Run. Same course = same madness.
For those who are looking for an extra stimulus from triathlon,
mountain biking, cyclo-cross or adventure racing or just looking for
Craic in general this will be right up you street.
Be warned: this is neither a classic mountain bike course nor a
straight forward triathlon. You are going to get wet (swimming or
not). You are going to get muddy. You will carry your bike over
obstacles in the woods. You will be jumping into rivers and climbing
out of them. But most of all you are going to enjoy this ;-)
Eireman X prices are low making it a very affordable race. Great starter race to do your first Triathlon/ Duathlon
Duathlon €25
Triathlon €35
Tri relay 2 people €60
No one day licence required.

€12.50 Online registration open till Friday 23.30pm
Also Registration available on the day

This race, organised by us, Jane and Graham Porter, was run for the first time in January of last year as a bit of fun after the winter snows. Everybody loved the course and the craic afterwards in the Ballycarney Inn. So by popular demand we are organising it again on a slightly bigger scale and this year it is being run in aid of Oxfam Ireland. All profits from the race will go to Oxfam.
A Big thank you to My Sport, Castle St, Enniscorthy (www.mysport.ie) for their sponsorship of the race.
The 10K course starts in Ballycarney village and follows the banks of the River Slaney on a quiet country road heading to the N11 at Scarawalsh. After a very brief loop on the N11/N80 the course goes over the old Scarawalsh Bridge before rejoining the outward route for the last 4 K. It is a fast course with only some short bumps to contend with.
Registration will be at the Ballycarney Inn, with parking in the car park and its environs.  Pre entered runners numbers can be collected up to 2.30pm. Entry on the day, (subject to availibility) costs €15 and will be open up to 2.15pm. Please note there is a 600 metre jog to the start line.
After the race there will be tea/coffee and sandwiches in the Ballycarney Inn for all entrants along with prize giving. There will be a prize for the first three men and women and spot prizes throughout the field.
As the purpose of the race (apart from giving you a super course and a bit of craic) is to raise funds for charity there will be NO teeshirts or medals. All profits from the race go to Oxfam Ireland.

Wexford Half Marathon & 10km is now open for the 22nd April
Most of you are aware that we changed the course last year to a flatter, faster and scenic course which was really well recieved.
We have made more changes this year which will hope will make it a 'must consider race' for the future. Some of the changes were based on the survey we did and some just enhanced things so we pursued them.
- We have introduced a 10km to the event.
- We have moved the finish area to the Faythe. This is an enclosed Tree lined area with grass and a long straight run in. Should be a nicer finish area for everyone.
- This means more running in Johnstown Castle grounds
- Water bottles for Half Marathon
-The early bird applies until Jan 31st then a group discount of 15% for 5 or more kicks in until end of March
- There is a video of the course on the website to give you a goo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPgWT...ature=youtu.be
- The survey results from the new course in 2011 are on the website
- New look website that is easier to navigate
All told we look forward to welcoming new and previous participants to Wexford Town. I doubt we'll have the same winds as last year so we'd hope there will be even more PB's this time around than the 58% in 2011...
