Ruth Kilcawley

Ruth Kilcawley completed a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Trinity College Dublin. She also successfully completed Honours Diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Dublin Institute of Technology.
She has six years clinical experience. Her work has involved clinical nutrition and dietetics in the acute setting and also working in the community with all age groups and sectors of society.
Over the years she has worked with a number of weight management groups endorsing a combined approach of diet, physical activity and behaviour change. She has had an ongoing interest on sports nutrition and has worked with a number of sporting groups in the amateur arena devising nutritional strategies for both individuals and teams.
As she is a keen triathlete herself, she is particularly interested in the role of sports nutrition in the disciplines of running, cycling and swimming. She regularly devises nutritional strategies for athletes at every level and currently provides a clinical sports dietetic service for irishtriathlon.com
She is a member of the Sports Nutrition Interest Group of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute.
