Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon Inter-Services Championship

Calling all Uniformed Personnel This event is designed to develop a unique opportunity for Inter-Services rivalry and competition among uniformed personnel in Ireland and abroad. Competition will take place in the full 42km Marathon and the five-person Team Relay.

 Categories

For the full marathon, two age categories (male and female): under 40 and over 40. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. Lord Mayor’s Trophy for first man and woman.
For the Inter-Services Relay competition, teams must be made up of five members who will share the marathon course. Details of the five stages can be found here. Teams can be all-female, all-male or mixed but must comprise serving or retired personnel. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, with Lord Mayor’s Trophy for 1st.
Prize for team raising the most funds for charity. You will need to submit independent or credible verification from your charity of choice.
Trophy in each service category, e.g. first Garda individual and team, first Prison Services individual and team, Defence Forces individual and team, first Fire Brigade individual and Team, etc.
Prize for best participatory team as judged by Panel. To enter this category, email us your story about why you’re entering.

This is a competition for serving and retired members of the uniform services in Ireland and abroad. The following list is not exhaustive. If you are part of a uniformed service not included on this list, please contact us and let us know.
