Hell Mountain Challenge – Co. Kerry

0

Press Release Thousands set to take on Kerry’s Hell Mountain Challenge, deemed Ireland’s toughest MOB event. The Hell Mountain Challenge is an adventure run unlike any other. A true test of endurance – the run takes you to the summit of a mountain with some of the most spectacular views on the Kerry coast. But all is not as it seems – both the 5km and 10km track is littered with surprise obstacles and challenges, sure to get your heart beating and adrenaline pumping. Known to locals as Coomaneaspaig, the mountain looms ominously over the village of Portmagee, Co. Kerry.

Participants will go through a gruelling, uphill course and on reaching the summit, will catch a glimpse of heaven as they survey glorious views stretching from Dingle to Beara to Skellig Michael, site of the recent Star Wars filming. This taste of heaven will be short-lived, however, as they face their descent into more mountainous terrain, in a bid to reach the finishing line.

Hell Mountain takes place on Bank Holiday Saturday, 25th October 2014 on the outskirts of Portmagee village on the scenic South Kerry coast.

Event organisers have teamed up with 10 charities and participants are welcome to participate in this initiative. The charities include; Donal Walsh Live Life, AWARE, Pieta House, Cunamh Iveragh, Valentia Island Cottage Hospital, Irish Heart Foundation, Caherciveen Community Hospital, The Irish Cancer Society, The Mater Foundation, and The Alzheimers Society of Ireland.

Registration will close at 11.00pm on Thursday October 23rd. Sign up via www.hellmountain.ie
