Hi all,
Have to say that the whole event was well organised and all involved should be congratulated - these events just don't happen and there is a massive amount of unseen work that goes on for these events to run as smoothly as this one does.
My only observation was that at the end of 39.3 miles(5hrs 51Mins later) the last thing I wished to do was wait in a bottle neck to collect my well deserved Ultra medal and t-shirt. I would of thought that there could of been 3 seperate funnels for each of the events thus allowing all athletes to pass through quickly.
Apart from that minor observation I thoroughly enjoyed my first Ultra and fully intend to be back next year

Regards

Hi Andy
Missed this posting but someone pointed it out to me.

It's a fair comment, but we tried that the year before, without much success.
We had 3 separate funnels, but people are so tired, or in a sprint, that they just don't look where they are going - they just want to get to the line.
We had real problems trying to keep the funnels accurate.

We plan to improve the finish line area significantly this year in any case.

Believe it or not, many of the half marathoners seem in worse shape that the ultra runners too!

Alan
