ALL IRELAND ULTRA 100k August 2010 & 2011

I am an ultra runner originally from Fermanagh that now lives and regularly runs 100milers, 100k, 50 miles, 50k in the good ole US of A (Austin, Texas). I am planning to setup and direct a 100k race that will be cross border, in August 2011. BUT in August 2010 I am looking for my first 50 or so 'guineapigs' to run the race for free so that I can work out the kinks in logistics etc. If you are game then please continue the discussion here and sign up on my facebook page which is acting acting as the website for the race: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/All-Ireland-Ultra-100k-foot-race... I am also very happy to answer direct questions on the FB page or via direct email on gordon@gmeta.com For example it you think there'd be a real interest in a 100 miler then I am flexible enough right now to look into making the course that length...though the short 100k is usually what will attract the numbers I need to make things viable...there will be 50k and 25k (fun runs) too ;)

half marathon training programme:Can any one recommend a good training programme for half marathon. I did two last year but would like to improve my time. Any suggestions? Also can anyone recommend healthy snacks while training.

Your not reading all the comments Gordon they are talking about the Connemara 100mile race! The suggestion was for a training plan leading up to the 100miles race and I replied "why not". We are all up for your 50/100k but a 100miler now that's a heck of a challenge dont you think? Well for some of us it's a dream for our inspirations its probally just a long training run!! yvonne008

Gordon, are you considering the 100k to be run this year in August or taking names in August for running it next year?
I'd nearly have a go at this if I dont come a cropper dipping my toe into the ultra pond this year.

depending the dates could be interested, but it need to be after the Connemara 100miles, too many people are preparing for it.
The startegy would be for training
- Connemara Ultra
- Portumna 100km /50km
- Connemara 100miles
