hi seb sorry haven't been able to make it out to the park on the tuesdays i know its not too far away only in from 9 til 4 and only get an hour lunch which really means i get 50mins, missing class isn't an option as attendance is required.
i am having trouble at the moment in terms of my shins with the running and can't manage all the run sessions, i find im able to run to and from swimming most mornings but am not able to do the more agressive sessions such as the 10 X 1km at pace. i remember you were talking to us about the physios you recommend and also cathorina mckiernan in terms of technique, i was just wondering should i email her and say that she was recommended to me by you?
i went to the talent id held by triathlon ireland and am keen to talk to you about my results some of which i feel i could definitely do better in terms of 3k run i went a 9.57 and 400m swim 4.54 (i can defo knock dat down to 4.40).
im still working saturdays, i know its not an ideal situation as that time would offer me more time for training and studying its just it offers me better financial backing in terms of training and gear my family can only do so much.
i really feel meeting with you would help alot and im aware you're busy and my schedule isn't the easiest to work with so could you give me the times you are down in dublin and when you're availible even for a half hour, im sure i'll be able to work something out.

Hi James,
recover first, and I will change yoru plan today regarding pacing intervals,to easy and short runs.
Catherina can be contacted through her site : www.catherinamckiernan.com
The physio I would recommend is Dr Marie-Elaine Grant 01 2196694
You schedule is extremly busy, and does not allow you enough recovery to be honest which can lead to injuries.I am tuesday and saturday morning In dublin. You are working on saturday I think.
Regarding the TI ID day, we are working on it :-)
What about Tuesday evening I am in The NAC up to 9pm ?

Good session yesterday, nice weather too.

Remember to get the pace right and not over doing it, it is not always about getting the quickest splits but managing the effort !

Hi Seb,

Good chatting last night.
Like I said I found the bike very tough to maintain the intensity for the whole session yesterday but will get there. The run splits after were 3.57; 3.48; 3.49.

Last week swim times:
1st 100=1.30
2nd 100=1.28
1st 200=3.10
2nd 200=3.12

Talk soon

Cheers

John

I won't be there this saturday, because I need to bring one of my young swimmer to the HP so not sure if I will be free enough after the session, I need to talk with Peter banks and her parents.
But next tuesday 12am in the phoenix park, same location. I think Colin is away.
James, give me a call when ever you can.

Oisin and Neil had an interesting session yesterday, they played chicken down hills and Neil had a great idea to do steps/climb repeats in some cross country steps......which I attemped to do.
Mark had soem great swimming last night too.

Hi Seb,

Sounds like a good session yesterday.
Just did the V02 test there with some interesting results. Turns out I had my HR zones all wrong! Would be good to look at this with you at some stage as I'm not quite sure Im pacing some sessions correctly.

I'll be down in Nenagh for the training weekend so maybe chat then.

Cheers

That should be interesting, but remember lab test are lab test.....

the 220-age is only an approximation for 100% then you drop them to Z5 to Z1

Can you post them here ? will be nice to see how far the formula is wrong ?

What was your max compare to 220-age ?

Sure.
That formula had me at 191 max HR. The test had me at 179. So not massive difference (e.g. z1=125-235 instead of 130-140) but makes some of the harder sessions more maneageable!

Strange to see that anaerobic threshold had decreased a good bit while Vo2 had increased (67.4).
Also, Good to have spoken last week in light of his reccomendations (E.g. he seemed to be an avid follower of periodisation, low hr at this time of year, recovery weeks etc).

hey Seb,

hope you are well. good craic the other night in the NAC! There finally seems to be a small bit of hope for me in the pool! ha!
For Sunday Pm you have " 1 hr 15 choices with 10 static jumps every 15 mins" --what do you mean by 'choices'?

Just do what ever pace you want to do it. It relax with only focus on explosive jump to develop some power.... so the main set are the jumps really the rest is only maintenace.

Hi Seb,

Can't believe it took you 5 hours back from Neenagh last weekend- crazy! At one stage I could only see about 10 feet in front of me driving home with the rain.

Training's been going well generally even though I seem to be more tired this recovery week! I think you should have my feedback over the past few weeks but just let me know if you want me to be more detailed? Did that session Friday and max HR after the 200's was 162;169;163.

Also, my weekend shift has unfortunately switched to Sat-Sun so can we make Sunday recovery and possibly do two shorter sessions on the Saturday? Let me know what you think on this or if you want me to give you a call to discuss.

Hopefully see you at the NAC tommoro

Ok guys,
My did not bring my laptop with me and it does not turn on anymore.
Let's do the following for this week for every body due weather other things from the reports I received :
MH: Focus on swimming this week every day with "round" arms workout and 2 long run of 15km at easy pace even if you can double the swim session will be great.
Johnny : I will review your schedule on the next plan. This week go for 4 runs max 10km with the usual long strides work but focus on 1 run of 10km doing 2x5km at race pace with 6min recovery between the 2
Neil : No bike this week exept sunday then do your swim as per email and focus on doing runs instead of the bike sessions, nothing fancy but long with last 2km at race pace
Colin / Oisin : repeat  last week please.
James :  give me a call thanks.

I have registered and have confirming email but our names not on entrant list. Does anybody have a contact number for an organiser of the connemarathon happening on April 11th?

Hi Anonymous,
You are in the triathlon section of the site, so you are a bit off the topic, but no worries.
I would suggest to contact directly on www.connemarathon.com I am sure they will help you and reply to you ASAP
Keep training :-)

Still have trouble....
Can you tell me who received it and who did not ?
Eircom says that it is my IP who has been black listed, so what I can do is to put the plans on a memory stick and use another computer without using my runireland email.

No worry, I am really late in my coaching at the moment as you know, Neil is the same than you but i am sure he is using his brother sessions.
I know it sounds easy to just email you a plan but there is a bit more than this into it.
I also had lazer in my eyes and sprained my ankle (again)... when only took 3 days of work including the weekend and I have over 130 emails to answer + review pulse plan and the swim clubs camps were cancelled which lead of 111km late mileage since the Floods and ice.....
Under pressure but I will fix all this.
