I will be in Galway 9/9-9/11, Kilarney 9/12-9/15, and Dublin 9/15-9/18.  I would love to run in an event while there.  Any suggestions?  I prefer a 10k since it is vacation after all.

Thanks

Clifden 10k is the only one I see.  Any thoughts on that one?  Looks small but could be very scenic.

Always plenty of runners on the prom in salthill in Galway. Not a running event, but feels like one with the crowds, its a lovely flat run overlooking galway bay and across to Co. Clare and the Burren.

Not every race/run will be on ruinireland and organisers can leave it late to put up their event on runireland, but it is still the best place to go to see what races are on, when and where. But seeing as you are tripping around Ireland and ending up in a different corner every few days, then I would say you should log on to Athlethics Ireland and search for clubs in the area you are in and then contact the appropriate person (usually give an email or phone number). You can get a list here http://www.athleticsireland.ie/content/?page_id=5996 broken down by region. Even if you dont happen to be in an area for a race, I'm sure in one of the clubs there will be a meet and run evening at least one of the times.

Looks like I will try the Clifden 10k.  Are there hotels nearby?  Or are we better off staying in Galway?  I was hoping to spend some quality time in the pub after the race.

Clifden is a good 50 mile from Galway city. Plenty of hotels, guest houses and B & B's in the area. Loads of good pubs in Clifden, usually a busy spot during the summer but is fairly quiet during the fall and winter.
Its a good scenic route, going through the town and then out the sky road with lovely views over the atlantic. Ran it last year, plenty of fun runners out to enjoy themselves and a good atmosphere in the town afterwards.
